Lionsgate has unveiled fresh posters for the eagerly awaited action thriller film titled “Ballerina,” which stars Oscar-nominated actress Ana de Armas as Eve Maccarro. This upcoming John Wick spin-off, slated for release in cinemas on June 6, 2025, will face off against Mike Flanagan’s movie, “The Life of Chuck.
Set within the timeline of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, this movie traces the journey of Eve Macarro as she embarks on her education in the lethal art of assassination within the Ruska Roma community’s longstanding traditions.
Who is in the Ballerina posters?
As a dedicated John Wick fan, I can’t contain my excitement when I spotted the posters hinting at the comeback of some beloved franchise characters! Keanu Reeves returns as the unstoppable John Wick, with Ian McShane back as Winston and Anjelica Huston reprising her role as The Director. Heartbreakingly, Lance Reddick graces us one last time as Charon in this upcoming installment.
Moreover, these posters have also unveiled some fresh faces joining the John Wick universe! Norman Reedus steps into the role of Daniel Pine, Gabriel Byrne takes on The Chancellor, Catalina Sandino Moreno introduces us to Lena, Sharon Duncan-Brewster becomes Nogi, Robert Maaser enters as Dex, David Casteñeda plays Javier, and Choi Sooyoung from Girls’ Generation makes her debut as Katla Park. I can hardly wait to see these newcomers bring their unique talents to the John Wick world!
In this new production, titled Ballerina, directed by Len Wiseman and written by Shay Hatten, we find ourselves delving into a spin-off universe. The film is jointly produced by Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee, Keanu Reeves, and Chad Stahelski. Thunder Road Films and 87eleven are the production companies behind this project. First announced in 2019 after the release of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, Ballerina introduces us to assassins trained by the Ruska Roma syndicate, led by Anjelica Huston’s character. It is worth noting that this same organization was instrumental in transforming John Wick into the invincible killer we know today.
