You Can Play A Free Demo Of This Metroidvania RPG Taking Place In A Hand-drawn World

The game Twilight Monk by Aquatic Moon combines action, role-playing (RPG), and Metroidvania elements, all set within a stunningly detailed, hand-drawn 2.5D environment.

According to the announcement made by developers Aquatic Moon and publishers Gravity Game Arise, the action RPG titled “Twilight Monk” will be released on both Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam in March. To give gamers a taste of the game ahead of its launch, a free demo is available on Steam as part of the “Steam Next Fest: February 2025 Edition”. This demo will be accessible until March 3rd.

The Moonken Monks As Last Hope

The game follows the narrative of Raziel Tenza, a member of the Twilight Monk lineage, who aims to thwart Nox, the treacherous conqueror seeking domination over Speria. As terrifying creatures wreak havoc on nearby settlements, the remaining inhabitants flock to the monastery on Crescent Isle, hoping for aid from the Moonken Monks. In this desperate time, Raziel emerges as their last beacon of hope.

Hidden Treasures And Secrets In Hand-Drawn Dungeons

Featuring a distinctive hand-drawn aesthetic and a 2.5D perspective, Twilight Monk combines action RPG gameplay with the exploration elements of metroidvania games in an original manner. Set within a captivating fantasy world, it offers compelling storytelling, impressive dungeon hubs, and an engaging level-up system for players to enjoy.

Twilight Monk features:

  • Dungeons full of puzzles, secrets and hidden treasures you can and will revisit once you gain new powers and abilities to find new passages in a metroidvanian way.
  • An Overworld Map reminiscent of classic JRPGs, connecting the various dungeons.
  • A unique weapon, the Phantom Pillar that can be used for platforming, battle, blocking enemy attacks, or even to activate mechanisms and solve puzzles.
  • A world created via beautiful hand-drawn 2D illustrations.

In March, the game “Twilight Monk” will be released on Nintendo Switch and PC through Steam, according to developers Aquatic Moon and publishers Gravity Game Arise. This Metroidvania-style action RPG can currently be played for free as a demo until March 3rd.
