Tamara Braun is leaving Days of Our Lives as Ava Vitali.
On the first of April, Braun shared on Instagram that it was not a prank for April Fool’s Day, but rather the final week for Ava on Days. She added that while she has been away since late July of the previous year, viewers can still see Ava until the 3rd of April.

Initially, Braun made her debut as Ava Vitali back in 2008 and has reprised the role multiple times since then. For a brief period, she also took on the character of Taylor Walker in 2011. Braun’s portrayal of Ava Vitali earned her a Daytime Emmy Award, which was a notable milestone in her soap opera acting journey.
In her social media update, Braun expressed, “I truly miss spending time with my dear Days companions. They are an exceptional group of compassionate people, and I always found great pleasure in their company.” She concluded her message to followers by saying, “Thank you for the outpouring of #love, #kindness, and #support during Ava’s recent run on Salem.
As a gaming aficionado, I’ve had the pleasure of seeing Tamara Braun on various soap operas. She played Carly Spencer and Dr. Kim Nero on General Hospital, and Reese Williams on All My Children. At this moment, there’s no news about her upcoming projects or potential comeback from Days of Our Lives.
Currently, Ava Vitali’s last performance is set for April 3rd, 2025. Braun had mentioned in his Instagram post that her scenes were shot back in late July of the previous year: “I’ve been away since July last year.” Her announcement on April 1st, which coincides with April Fool’s Day, was not a prank, as she made clear.
Her exit marks another instance in the long-running pattern of cast changes on Days of Our Lives.
