Yellowstone Spin-off With Kelly Reilly & Cole Hauser Moving Forward at Paramount

As a seasoned gamer of the wild west genre in the world of television, I must say, the news of a Yellowstone spin-off featuring Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser has sent ripples of excitement through my cowboy boots! Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler are characters as intricate as the finest of six-shooters, and I can’t wait to see their continued journey in this new series.

A Yellowstone spin-off series with Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser is now officially in the works.

Back in August, news emerged that MTV Entertainment Studios and 1010 Studios were discussing with Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser about reprising their characters, Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler, following the finale of Yellowstone’s fifth season. It wasn’t straightforward whether they were being considered for a spin-off or a possible sixth season of Yellowstone at that time.

As reported by Deadline, it’s confirmed that Reilly and Hauser will reprise their roles as Beth and Rip in a brand new spin-off series.

What else do we know about the Yellowstone spin-off with Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser?

According to Deadline, it’s expected that Taylor Sheridan is developing the new series and it might involve other actors from the original show, in addition to Reilly and Hauser.

The article by Deadline mentions that the upcoming spin-off series, titled “Yellowstone,” features actors reprising their roles from the original show in the current timeline. This new series shares the closest genetic connection with the original “Yellowstone” among all shows in its universe so far, making it the first to include “Yellowstone” in its title, according to sources.

At present, no further details regarding cast members for the series have been disclosed. As of now, there’s no confirmed release date from Paramount.

The Yellowstone Season 5B finale, meanwhile, airs on December 15, 2024.

Christina Alexandra Voros, the executive producer, shared with Variety her thoughts on the finale, stating, “This final set of episodes seems to mark the conclusion of a period.” She continued, “Discussing it in depth would reveal hints about the future. However, I believe [co-creator and writer] Taylor [Sheridan] has skillfully crafted an ending that feels both unexpected and inevitable. To fully grasp everything that led up to this point, you must reach the end of the story.
