Cole Hauser has just given us a sneak peek into the forthcoming Yellowstone spin-off focusing primarily on characters Beth and Rip. Both Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser are set to return, taking on their respective roles as Beth and Rip in this exciting new chapter.
During a chat with The Hollywood Reporter, Hauser hinted at the main theme of the upcoming spin-off and expressed his anticipation about the future development of his character.
Kelly and I are primarily concerned with Rip and Beth’s relationship and their shared connection, as well as the experiences we plan for them,” Hauser stated. “I’m just as eager as everyone else to see what they will create. I hope we’ll begin seeing their work soon.
Hauser is likely to experience a transition phase as he returns to Rip, having mentioned the challenges of being back without most of the Yellowstone ensemble. He singled out one particular actor from the cast that he’ll dearly miss collaborating with.
It’s tough not having the cast on, Hauser noted. ‘Forrie J. Smith has grown to be such a dear friend of mine,’ he said, ‘that it’s hard to imagine my trusted companion, Lloyd Pierce from the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch, won’t be there by my side.’ Smith portrays Lloyd, the eldest ranch hand on the ranch who regularly works alongside Rip.
What is the Yellowstone spin-off with Beth and Rip about?
The news that a Yellowstone spin-off featuring actors Reilly and Hauser was in the works dates back to August, which was several months before the final season of Yellowstone aired. Since then, discussions have been ongoing between Reilly and Hauser about potentially reprising their roles for either the spin-off or Season 6 of Yellowstone.
Just prior to the final episode airing in December, it appears that Reilly and Hauser have agreed to reprise their roles for a potential spin-off series.
Screenwriter Taylor Sheridan is planning to produce a new series titled “Beth and Rip,” which shares many similarities with the original show Yellowstone. The series is set in the contemporary time period, just like its predecessor, and features some familiar faces from Yellowstone. At this point, no further casting decisions have been made public.
In the upcoming spin-off, Reilly and Hauser are set to make a comeback, while Luke Grimes will once again take on the character of Kayce Dutton for the new series titled “Y: Marshals”. This show is scheduled to air on CBS in the spring of 2026.
