The sheer wealth of talent and the camaraderie that pervaded through these interactions were nothing short of inspiring.

2024 saw several notable figures from the Southern film industry sharing intimate insights with TopMob during open discussions. Stars such as Suriya, Nani, Rashmika Mandanna, and the venerable Kamal Haasan divulged a wealth of information about their work, future projects, and other intriguing aspects in private interviews.

As the new year approaches, let’s take a moment to look back at some highlights from our special coverage in 2024 – TopMob’s notable moments recapped for you.

Top key moments from TopMob Exclusives 2024:

2. Janhvi Kapoor’s reaction to working with Jr NTR in Devara

In 2024, Janhvi Kapoor started her career in Telugu cinema by starring alongside Jr NTR in “Devara: Part 1”. Prior to the launch of her upcoming film, Ulajh, I had the pleasure of talking with her. During our conversation, I asked about her experience working with the actor and being part of a Southern production.

To your comment, the actress responded, “It was fantastic! I’m captivated by their approach. They treat a movie as if it’s a masterpiece, a piece of art and cinema. They handle it with great respect, scale, and importance. Siva sir is leading such an enormous ship with significant responsibilities.

This movie is quite large, yet he remains incredibly serene. Not only is he delightful to converse with, but also effortless to collaborate with, making you feel secure as an actor. Jr NTR simply steps into a scene and it seems to come alive. His energy is infectious, the actress mentioned.

3. Prithviraj Sukumaran on working with Mohanlal as a director

In the early part of 2024, Prithviraj Sukumaran had an intimate conversation with TopMob before the premiere of his movie Aadujeevitham (The GOAT Life). During this discussion, he was questioned about his upcoming third directorial project with Mohanlal and the insights he gained from working with the star.

During our chat, the actor expressed, “Top-tier performers fully surrender to the director’s vision. Mohanlal sir, undeniably a legend and one of our country’s finest actors, is skilled enough to analyze a script and discern his role as an actor. However, he consistently approaches you with the question, ‘What should I do, sir?’

The actor noted, “I’ve had Lal sir perform around 17 to 18 takes without ever asking me why. He never questions the necessity for additional takes, and this is a valuable lesson for all of us.

Furthermore, Prithviraj Sukumaran expressed confidence that Prabhas’s movie, Salaar, will be successful at the box office. He also hinted that all aspects of the film would become clear when the sequel is released.

4. Nani addressing whether he’d be in Kalki 2

Natural Star Nani sat down for an interview with TopMob exclusively ahead of his last movie Saripodhaa Sanivaaram’s release. During the same, the actor was asked about the chances of him appearing for a cameo in the sequel of Kalki 2898 AD starring Prabhas.

In response, the actor stated, “I wasn’t aware of that remark. Nothing like that was shared between us. Yet, we are quite close, so it’s plausible that he mentioned it without our having a specific discussion about it.

Furthermore, he recalled receiving numerous calls following the release of Kalki 2898 AD in cinemas. He commented, “It was peculiar because even on the day Kalki premiered, my phone was filled with messages. I thought, what? Why me? It seemed everyone had decided I was there. Yet, we’ve never discussed it.

5. Sivakarthikeyan opening up on the cameo scene from The GOAT with Thalapathy Vijay

Recently, Sivakarthikeyan, Sai Pallavi, and director Rajkumar Perisamy participated in an exclusive interview with TopMob. During the discussion, the actor who had recently triumphed in Amaran was questioned about his memorable guest role in Thalapathy Vijay’s The GOAT and how he reacted when the megastar “handed over the torch” to him.

In response, SK explained that “Thalapathy Vijay’s legacy is uniquely his own, untouchable by others. To me, this scene of a seasoned star sharing the screen with a rising talent was particularly heartwarming. It seemed like he was bestowing affection upon me, and I chose to interpret it as such.

Adding to the statement, the actor expressed, “His three-decade-long journey, marked by personal hardships and victories, isn’t something I can simply inherit and carry forward. It doesn’t work like that.

6. Rashmika Mandanna on feeling surprised when hearing rumored boyfriend Vijay Deverakonda’s voice for The Girlfriend teaser

Recently, during an exclusive chat with TopMob, I (lifestyle expert) was taken aback to discover that the mesmerizing voice heard in my latest recommendation, “The Girlfriend” teaser, belongs to none other than Vijay Deverakonda! It’s always fascinating to see how talented actors breathe life into their roles.

The actress from Pushpa 2 responded to the voiceover, saying, “It’s intriguing because, firstly, he isn’t in the movie. He has lent his voice to us, but what was fascinating is that they edited this teaser especially for my birthday. I wasn’t aware he provided a voiceover. To me, it was a delightful surprise.

Moreover, she also expressed, “A few days ago, upon seeing the teaser and hearing his voice, I was taken aback, thinking, That sounds like Vijay! What’s happening? The surprise of recognizing his voice enhanced the enchantment of the teaser for me. With its music, visuals, and direction, it already had an aura; but his voice just made it even more captivating.

7. Kamal Haasan and his plan to experiment with Mani Ratnam’s film, Thug Life

In 2024, Kamal Haasan reappeared on the screen as his iconic character Senapathy in Shankar’s film Indian 2. Prior to the movie’s premiere, the esteemed actor sat down for an open interview with TopMob and was questioned about starring in a pure Hindi movie, much like his timeless hits such as Chachi 420, Ek Duuje Ke Liye, and numerous others.

Responding to this, the actor from Vikram stated, “I’m trying to persuade Mr. Mani Ratnam to adapt Thug Life with a twist – we’re currently halfway through production, but I believe I can convince him. If successful, it would be an intriguing endeavor, as we’d decide to remake it in another language after the initial half is complete. Time will tell if this collaboration comes to fruition.

Beyond his statement, the actor further expressed, “Today, I believe, due to advancements in telecommunication and Over-The-Top (OTT) platforms, our country is increasingly unified. As a result, language barriers are less significant, and cinema has its unique, universal language. It’s no longer accurate or fair to segregate cinema into 22 distinct regions; it’s all one entity, which explains why Charlie Chaplin resonates with a boy from Paramakudi.
