As a long-time fan of the Xenoblade series, this announcement has me buzzing like a Blade’s energy core! After countless hours lost in the original Xenoblade Chronicles X on my trusty Wii U, the prospect of revisiting that expansive world with updated visuals and new story content is beyond exciting.
Monolith Soft has revealed their upcoming project in the Xenoblade series – it’s a remastered version of the Wii U title, titled “Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition.” This enhanced edition is scheduled for release on Nintendo Switch in March 2025. Moreover, this new version will include extra story content that was not present in the original game.
This week, Nintendo and Monolith Software unveiled details for Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition, which will be available on the Nintendo Switch on March 20, 2025. The original game will be included in its entirety, with improved graphics and effects leveraging modern technology, as well as new story content that delves deeper into the characters and their journey through the world of Mira.
Xenoblade Chronicles X is often hailed as one of the most intriguing installments in the series and received much acclaim upon release. However, due to being exclusive to the Wii U, it has been overlooked until now. With its arrival on the Nintendo Switch, fans of Xenoblade will have access to one of the more captivating open-world games within the series in a convenient location. It’s worth pondering if the release date of March 2025 suggests that it may also become available on the upcoming successor to the Nintendo Switch, which is expected to be unveiled soon.
Regardless, we’ll look forward to seeing this spruced up version of Xenoblade Chronicles X when it arrives on the Switch in 2025. Stay tuned for more updates and news leading up to the release.
