On Saturday, December 14, 2024, WWE put on an exhilarating show for their Main Event, held at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Long Island, New York. This event attracted a whopping 2.3 million viewers, splitting between NBC and Peacock, resulting in a tremendous triumph.
The event showcased six bouts, among them being the Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan successfully retaining her title against Iyo Sky. Drew McIntyre emerged victorious in a long-standing rivalry match with Sami Zayn. An iconic moment unfolded as the first Women’s U.S. Championship was bestowed.
In the match, Chelsea Green emerged victorious against Michin, marking her as the inaugural Women’s U.S. Champion. Meanwhile, Gunther successfully defended his WWE World Heavyweight Championship in a three-way battle against Damian Priest and Finn Balor.
The highlight of the show was Cody Rhodes reintroducing the legendary Winged Eagle WWE Championship. He successfully defended his title by overcoming Kevin Owens. This long-standing feud between them will culminate at the Royal Rumble, where both the WWE championship and the Winged Eagle championship will be suspended above the ring for a thrilling ladder match.
After a lengthy hiatus, the beloved Saturday Night’s Main Event is making a triumphant comeback! The event has already scheduled its next show on January 25, 2025, at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas. Fans should brace themselves for additional thrilling episodes of this legendary series throughout 2025.
WWE’s Saturday Night’s Main Event set for May & July
In the U.S., you can find WWE shows across multiple channels. RAW is only accessible on Netflix, while WWE SmackDown is on USA Network and can also be streamed next-day on Peacock. Meanwhile, WWE NXT is aired on The CW Network, and major live events such as WrestleMania and SummerSlam will all broadcast live on Peacock.
As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that starting from early 2025, WWE programs have moved their base to Netflix in most parts of the world! By mid-2026, this shift will touch down in the United States. However, it’s important to note that U.S. fans can still catch all the action on Peacock, as it continues to be WWE’s home turf there.
According to PWInsider, Peacock has announced that the next three installments of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event are scheduled for January 25th, May 24th, and July 12th. The locations for the May and July events have yet to be determined, but fans are eagerly anticipating the lineups for these upcoming shows. These events will take place following WrestleMania 41.
