It seems that the WWE is rumored to invite retired Hall of Famer Sting for a return appearance following his departure from AEW last year. At the AEW Revolution event in 2024, the duo of Sting and Darby Allin successfully guarded their Tag Team Championship against The Young Bucks.
In his last bout of his pro wrestling career, Sting preserved his unbeaten AEW record at 29-0, making him boast a perfect 100% win rate in Tony Khan’s league. Following his retirement, he made an unexpected comeback at All In in the year 2024, saving Darby Allin from The Elite’s assault.
In October 2024, he agreed to a multi-year deal with AEW that doesn’t involve wrestling, enabling them to sell his merchandise and occasionally include him in their programs. However, Sting is still contractually bound to AEW, but rumors indicate that WWE hopes to have him at the 2025 Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
According to reports, Sting’s longtime friend and World Championship Wrestling (WCW) icon Lex Luthor has chosen him and Diamond Dallas Page as his preferred candidates for induction into the WWE Hall of Fame. It seems that Luthor has communicated to the WWE that Sting is his top pick, and now, the WWE is actively trying to make this a reality.
This month, it was revealed that Lex Luger would be the third member inducted into the 2025 WWE Hall of Fame class. WWE Champion Cody Rhodes personally shared this exciting news with the previous WCW World Champion.
It appears that rumors suggest Lex Luger advocated for Sting’s inclusion in the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2025. According to Fightful Select, WWE intends to contact Sting regarding his potential attendance at the event. Reports also imply that Luger and those close to him have communicated to WWE that Sting is their top choice for induction.
Additionally, the report indicates that Sting mentioned he might not induct Luger because of his AEW contract obligations. He’s slated to show up at WrestleCon Las Vegas during the WrestleMania 41 weekend.
A little over a year back, Lex Luger proposed that Sting would make an ideal choice for his WWE Hall of Fame inductor. Here’s hoping this event takes place, I’m thrilled for Lex!

As a gaming enthusiast, I was thrilled when I heard about WrestleCon’s initial plan for the AEW star’s limited appearances during WrestleMania 41 week. But, guess what? The excitement just got real! It turns out that his schedule has expanded, and he’s now slated to grace us with his presence on the 19th and 20th of April. Can’t wait!
