As a seasoned traveler of the Genshin Impact realm, I’ve encountered my fair share of unique and powerful characters. Among them, the icy prowess of Zhezhi, the Wuthering Waves Jinshi, has caught my attention.
Are you seeking optimal builds for Zhezhi in Wuthering Waves to get insights on ideal weapons, Echoes, Echo Loadouts, stat priority upgrades, and team compositions she fits best with? Well, here’s the information you need!
Zhezhi is a highly-rated Resonator in Wuthering Waves, armed with a Rectifier-style weapon that harnesses the power of Glacio elements. Her gameplay primarily revolves around Basic Attacks and the Forte Circuit ability, which deals immense Glacio damage. This makes her an excellent choice for teams seeking high DPS or Sub DPS.
In this pre-launch manual, I will walk you through the character kit of Zhezhi, providing tips on how to effectively play her in Wuthering Waves. Additionally, we’ll discuss her optimal weapons, Echoes, Echo Loadout configurations, stat and upgrade priorities, as well as suitable team compositions. So, let’s dive in!
Wuthering Waves Zhezhi Best Build Explained
In the optimal setup for Zhezhi in Wuthering Waves, the emphasis is on striking a good balance between Critical Rate and Critical Damage%, all the while aiming to boost the Basic Attack Damage as high as feasible, since her abilities are heavily dependent on it.
Basic Attack And Afflatus Gain
In simpler terms, Zhezhi’s primary attack is called “Dimming Brush.” This attack inflicts damage based on Glacio element and can occur in basic, heavy, mid-air, and dodge counter situations. You’ll primarily use it to accumulate a special status called Afflatus stack.
Zhezhi has the capacity to store approximately 90 Afflatus units. She acquires these by executing her standard attack and also through the initial skill she possesses called “Brilliance in a Brush.”
Spiritual Sketches And How To Summon Them
After learning about Afflatus, you’ll utilize the primary method to inflict damage with Zhezhi through the use of the Spiritual Sketch ability. To clarify, there are three distinct Spiritual Sketches tied to Zhezhi’s abilities: Spiritual Sketch (Left), Spiritual Sketch (Middle), and Spiritual Sketch (Right). At any given time, up to one instance of each type can remain active on the battlefield for approximately 15 seconds.
Once we’ve covered that aspect, you might be curious about how to invoke these Spiritual Sketches. Here’s the trick: Utilize Zhezhi’s Resonance Skill, Depiction, when your Afflatus reaches 60 or above. This action will instantaneously bring forth both Spiritual Sketch: Left and Spiritual Sketch: Right.
Summoning Spiritual Sketch: Middle
Instead, to activate the Spiritual Sketch: Middle ability, you need to employ Zhezhi’s Forte Circuit technique, particularly during the Heavy Attack: Composition phase when your Afflatus level is 30 or higher. You can execute this move using any of the three available methods.
- Holding the Basic Attack button shortly after Basic Attack Stage 3
- Press the Basic Attack button shortly after casting Resonance Skill
- Hold the Basic Attack button while in mid-air
In this scenario, you’ll be employing the Spirit Sketches for an improved handling of Zhezhi’s Forte Circuit. This enhancement will allow you to inflict substantial damage by utilizing two distinct variants of Zhezhi’s Resonance Skills: Stroke of Genius and Stroke of Maestro.
Resonance Skill: Stroke of Genius
Whenever I find myself in close proximity to a Spiritual Sketch, my usual Resonance Skill transforms into a remarkable ability I call Stroke of Genius. And when I invoke it, Zhezhi will:
- Blink to the location of the Spiritual Sketch and remove it, then summon a crane spirit to attack the target, dealing Glacio DMG, considered as Basic Attack DMG.
- Gain 1 “Painter’s Delight” stack lasting for 8s and stacking up to 2 times.
Resonance Skill: Stroke of Maestro
When a Spiritual Sketch is close at hand, and you have two piles of “Painter’s Delight” nearby, the ability called Resonance Skill transforms into Stroke of Maestro. Upon casting this transformation, Zhezhi will:
- Blink to the location of the Spiritual Sketch and remove it, then summon a crane spirit to attack the target, dealing greater Glacio DMG, considered as Basic Attack DMG, and additionally increasing the Basic Attack DMG Multiplier by 18% for 22s.
How To Play Zhezhi In Wuthering Waves
As a devoted enthusiast, the strategy that comes to mind for me when playing Zhezhi in Wuthering Waves is to frequently switch to her character to accumulate Afflatus, and subsequently employ her standard assaults. Continue this process until your Afflatus level reaches 60 or higher.
To achieve summoning Spirit Sketches, you have a few options:
Following this, utilize Zhezhi’s Resonance Skill to transport twice to the chosen Spirit Sketch and engage in attack. This will earn you a stack of Painter’s Delight while inflicting significant damage. Note that making two teleports grants you two stacks of Painter’s Delight for the Resonance Skill: Stroke of Maestro. After executing it, feel free to use the Resonance Liberation or employ it as you prefer.
To put it in more simpler terms, here’s how you must use Zhezhi:
- Perform Basic Attack combo – Gained 30 Afflatus
- Use Resonance Skill and press the Basic Attack button – Summoned Spiritual Sketch: Middle
- Perform Basic Attack combo – 2 times [You can add Resonance Liberation or Echo Skill in between if you want]
- Use Resonance Skill – Summoned Spiritual Sketch: Left and Right
- Select and teleport to Sketch Spirits by pressing the Resonance Skill button – This must be done two times to gain two stacks of Painter’s Delight
- Use the Resonance Skill on the final Sketch Spirit to perform Resonance Skill: Stroke of Maestro
- Use Resonance Liberation
- Repeat
Wuthering Waves Zhezhi’s Best Weapon
For Zhezhi, the most effective tool will likely be her unique weapon, aptly named Icy Blossoms. This is a ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ weapon that boasts Critical Damage Percentage as its secondary attributes.
For Zhezhi, Yinlin’s Stringmaster would work wonderfully too. If you’re willing to invest in the battle pass, the Augment is another fantastic option.
For those who prefer free games, both Jinzhou Keeper and Rectifier of Night are viable options. But if you want to enhance your gaming experience, I suggest utilizing the Augment feature as well.
Weapon | Stats (Level 90) | Skill (At Rank 1) |
Rime-Draped Sprouts |
| NA |
Stringmaster |
| Increases the DMG Bonus by 12%. When dealing Resonance Skill DMG, it increases ATK by 12%, stacking up to 2. This effect lasts for 5s. When the equipped Resonator is not on the field, it increases its ATK by an additional 12%. |
Augment |
| When Resonance Liberation is released, increases the caster’s ATK by 15%, lasting for 15s. |
Jinzhou Keeper |
| When Intro Skill is released, it increases the caster’s ATK by 8% and HP by 10%, lasting for 15s. |
Rectifier of Night |

Wuthering Waves Zhezhi’s Best Echoes & Echo Loadout
For Zhezhi, the optimal Echo Set is the Freezing Frost set, significantly increasing her Ice Damage. Alternatively, you could use sets like Lingering Tunes or even pair them with Moonlit Clouds, but I’d advise against this in favor of the Freezing Frost set.
Freezing Frost Set Bonus
- 2 Set: Glacio DMG increases by 10%.
- 5 Set: Upon using Basic Attack or Heavy Attack, Glacio DMG increases by 10%, stacking up to three times, lasting for 15 seconds.
Echo Loadout
For the best possible configuration of Echo’s equipment, consider a setup that includes four pieces focusing on Critical Rate, three pieces optimizing Critical Damage, and one piece enhancing additional attributes. This arrangement strikes an ideal balance among these key aspects.
Echo | Energy | Echo Ability | Stat Priority |
Lampylumen Myriad | 4 | Transform into Lampylumen Myriad. Perform up to 3 consecutive attacks. Unleash a freezing shock by performing consecutive forward strikes, with the initial two strikes inflicting 143.87% and 143.87% Glacio DMG respectively, and the final strike dealing 191.82% Glacio DMG. Enemies will be frozen on hit. Each shock increases the current character’s Glacio DMG by 4.00% and Resonance Skill DMG dealt by 4.00% for 15s, stacking up to 3 times. CD: 20s. |
|
Glacio Dreadmane | 3 | Lacerate enemies as a Glacio Dreadmane, dealing 154.1% Glacio DMG on each hit. Equipped with 2 charges and can be cast mid-air. Glacio Dreadmane deals 20% more DMG while in mid-air and generates 6 Icicles upon landing, each dealing 23% Glacio DMG. CD: 20s. |
|
Lumiscale Construct | 3 | Transform into a Lumiscale Construct and enter a Parry Stance. If you are not attacked during the Parry Stance, slash to deal 397.9% Glacio DMG when the stance finishes. If attacked, counterattack instantly, dealing 596.85% Glacio DMG. When hit with a Special Skill attack while in the Parry Stance, break the Special Skill and counterattack, dealing 596.85% Glacio DMG. CD: 15s. |
|
Clang Bang | 1 | Summon a Clang Bang that follows the enemy and eventually self-combusts, dealing 23.00%+46 Glacio DMG. CD: 8s. |
|
Glacio Prism | 1 | Summon a Glacio Prism that continuously fires three crystal shards, each dealing 27.60% Glacio DMG. CD: 8s. |

As a seasoned collector of Echoes, let me share my thoughts with you. Apart from the initial acquisition of Lampylumen Myriad, I find it intriguing that you can select any three-cost and one-cost Echo, especially since new ones have been added for added variety. Based on my personal experience, having a diverse collection of Echoes not only enriches the overall gaming experience but also adds depth to the storyline. So, go ahead and explore the possibilities offered by this exciting addition!
