As a passionate enthusiast, I can’t help but share my excitement as Wuthering Waves, one of the most sought-after gacha games, has swiftly risen to fame in the gaming community. Just recently, this captivating game has officially launched on both mobile and PC platforms, with Kuro, the developer, promising even grander ambitions for its future.
1.2 is about to follow closely, but it’s 1.3 that has fans buzzing due to the confirmed characters. In 1.3, we can expect both Youhu and The Shorekeeper, while this year also brings the exciting launch of WuWa on PlayStation 5 systems.
Although there’s no announced launch date for WuWa on PS5 yet, the eagerly-anticipated Wuthering Waves update 1.2 is set for release tomorrow. The clock is almost up on the release date and countdown, and fans can soon enjoy playing as Zhezhi, with Xiangli Yao being accessible next month.
Wuthering Waves update 1.2 release date
According to Kuro’s confirmation, the Wuthering Waves update will be launched on August 15th.
Zhezhi is set to appear once the latest WuWa chapter has been released. In the meantime, you’ll need to hold off until September 7th to acquire Xiangli Yao. These two new playable characters from Kuro have generated a lot of excitement, and they both promise to be quite intriguing.

When does Wuthering Waves update 1.2 come out?
1. The scheduled launch time for Update 1.2 of Wuthering Waves is set for 10 PM Pacific Time on the 14th of August, which translates to 1 AM Eastern Time and 6 AM British Summer Time on the 15th of August.
According to the maintenance announcement by Kuro, the game will be temporarily unavailable at 6AM UTC+8, which corresponds to 3PM Pacific Time (PT), 6PM Eastern Time (ET), and 11PM British Summer Time (BST) on August 14th. The scheduled downtime is expected to continue until the specified release times mentioned above.
As a dedicated player, I regret to inform you that due to scheduled maintenance, I won’t be able to access the game during this time. However, rest assured, upon completion of the maintenance, we have an exciting reward waiting for all players: 300 Astrite and 2 Crystal Solvent!

How to preload
As a fortunate gamer, I’ve been selected for Kuro’s gray-scale test! If I’m among the chosen ones, I’ll get a heads-up to preload the exciting update 1.2. Once the notification pops up, I’ll be all set to kick off the process and update the game client!
Simply follow the below steps:
- Rovers selected for the gray box test will need to update their launcher to version 1.6.0.0 upon starting the game launcher. When prompted, please click “Confirm” to proceed with the update.
- After the pre-download begins, a [New Version Pre-download] button will show up on the v1.6.0.0 launcher’s interface. Click this button to download the latest package.
