As a long-time fan of Genshin Impact, I’m always eagerly anticipating the next update and the new content it brings. With version 1.2 just around the corner, I can hardly contain my excitement! And what a treat we have in store for us: not only do we get to see Zhezhi and Xiangli in action with their stunning animations, but there are also some significant buffs and nerfs coming our way.
The past few weeks playing Wuthering Waves 1.1 have been an enjoyable experience, but its conclusion is approaching. Recently, fans have been delighted by the introduction of Changli, whose arrival has added an extra layer of excitement to the ongoing storyline within the WuWa community. As we prepare for the end of version 1.1, here’s a heads up on the upcoming release date for Wuthering Waves update 1.2, along with some intriguing leaks that have surfaced so far.
Changli was recently introduced in WuWa for enthusiasts to interact with. Notably, Kuro has disclosed plans for a PS5 edition, which is expected to be released at some point in the future. Furthermore, they have unveiled new gameplay footage. Rumors also indicate that a significant enhancement long desired by Genshin Impact followers is imminent.
We’re eagerly counting down the days until Wuthering Waves arrives on PS5, but a specific release date has yet to be announced. In contrast, update 1.2 already has a known launch date. However, we can expect the next installment of WuWa fairly soon, with many exciting possibilities hinted at in leaks and rumors, as well as confirmed banner characters.
Wuthering Waves update 1.2 release date
The anticipated date for the Wuthering Waves update 1.2 is August 16th. Presently, the Changli banner for version 1.1 is slated to conclude on August 14th. Following a common pattern in gacha games like Genshin Impact, the new chapter is likely to commence on August 15th.
Banner characters
Zhezhi and Xiangli Yao are the designated mascots set to debut in Update 1.2 without a specified release date. It’s anticipated that Zhezhi will make their appearance together with Update 1.2, while Xiangli Yao is likely to join later in September.
Based on what’s been shared (but not yet confirmed), it seems that Zhezhi may be introduced before Xiangli Yao in the game, as she was first presented on the game’s Twitter account. According to the announcement, “Zhezhi is a commissioned painter who prefers quietude and modesty. She might not have many words, but her determination and passion for painting are evident.”

Wuthering Waves update 1.2 leaks
Some insider information has surfaced about potential adjustments to Zhezhi and Xiangli Yao’s abilities before their official launch. Although the in-game characters themselves are confirmed, these leaks provide a sneak peek into possible buffs or nerfs for these two figures.
Zhezhi:
- Buff to Resonance Skill: Increases Basic Attack DMG multiplier by 18% for 25s -> 27s.
- Buff to weapon passive: Basic Attack DMG Bonus while Zhezhi is off-field will increase by 52%-104% and last 25s -> 27s.
- Swapped the S1 and S2 buffs: the S1 increases the Crit Rate by 10% for 25s and by 15 Resonance Energy when the Resonance Skill is used. The S2 doubles Resonance Liberation’s Coordinated Attacks.
Xiangli Yao:
- Xiangli Yao:
- Resonance Liberation damage nerf: 1625.34% -> 1332.78% (first attack only, no doompost)
- Change to Inherent Skill: Gain 15% Electro DMG Bonus -> When using Resonance Skill, gain 5% Electro DMG Bonus for 8s. It can have a maximum of 4 stacks.
- New S1: When using the Resonance Skill: Universal Law, it will cause 6 additional instances of damage, each hit doing 8% of the Resonance Skill’s original damage.
- Buff at S5: Outro Skill 170% -> 222.09%, Resonance Liberation 100% -> 120%
- Nerf to S6: Damage multiplier Resonance Skill: Law of Reigns 100% -> 76%
Apart from the previously mentioned adjustments to Zhezhi and Xiangli, I’m thrilled to share that leaked footage hints at stunning in-game animations for these characters. Can’t wait to see them in action!
