Wuthering Waves achieves “major milestone” in under two months

As a dedicated gamer with years of experience under my belt, I must say that I’m truly impressed by the meteoric rise of Wuthering Waves. This newcomer in the gacha game scene has managed to captivate the hearts and wallets of players within just two short months of its full release.

Wuthering Waves is the latest sensation in the gacha gaming world, resembling the success of Genshin Impact. Launched just two months ago, it has rapidly amassed a large following. Currently available on PC and mobile platforms, “Wuthering Waves has surpassed an impressive benchmark” within this short time frame since its official release.

As a long-time fan of WuWa, I’m thrilled to my bones about what’s shaping up to be an exciting future for this game. Rumors abound that we’re in for a major upgrade that Genshin Impact enthusiasts have been yearning for, and if the leaks are to be believed, it could be a doozy! To top it off, whispers of a PlayStation release have been making the rounds, which would be a game-changer for me personally, as I’ve always preferred playing RPGs on my trusty PlayStation console.

I’m absolutely thrilled to be part of the ever-expanding community of Wuthering Waves fans! This game may be fresh off the shelves, but its financial success is nothing short of phenomenal. We’ve already smashed past the $100 million mark!

Wuthering Waves surpasses $100 million

As a passionate gamer, I’m thrilled to share that since the official release of Wuthering Waves on May 22nd, we, the gaming community, have collectively spent over $100 million on this captivating game! This impressive milestone was recently announced on July 16th.

AppMagic achieved a significant accomplishment: they generated substantial mobile revenue from both the iOS and Google Play stores. (This achievement does not include revenue earned from PC platforms.)

I’ve recently learned that during the span of May 22nd to May 31st, WuWa managed to garner an impressive 7.4 million downloads on mobile devices alone. Adding to that number, the game boasted a grand total of 11.5 million downloads when counting those from Apple Store and Google Play. Notably, approximately one quarter of these downloads were made by gamers residing in China, while the US accounted for around one seventh, and Japan contributed with roughly the same proportion.

Approximately a quarter of the mobile game’s income comes from Japan, followed by China with around 22%. South Korea contributes about 17%, and the US accounts for another 17% of the earnings.

In June, Wuthering Waves ranked third among gacha games in terms of revenue generation, trailing behind Honkai Star Rail and Genshin Impact from Hoyoverse. Wuthering Waves reportedly earned approximately $59.9 million during this month, with notable income surges following new banner launches.

On June 6th, the game generated a revenue of $5.5 million from mobile users, marking the day of Yinlin’s release. Likewise, on June 28th, the game brought in an additional $4.4 million through mobile sales following Jinshi’s debut.

As someone who has been closely following the gaming industry for years, I can confidently say that these mobile revenue numbers are quite impressive. However, it’s important to note that the game in question is also available on PC via the Epic Games store. Moreover, the developer, Kuro Games, has confirmed that versions for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 are currently under development.
