As a seasoned gamer and a self-proclaimed binge-watcher of all things entertaining, I’m always on the lookout for fresh content to consume. This August, Netflix has truly outdone itself with an impressive lineup of unscripted titles that cater to various tastes.
On Netflix, you’ll consistently find exactly what suits your viewing tastes. This month, they’ve introduced and plan to introduce a variety of unscripted programs, including true crime documentaries, music-focused docuseries, and numerous competition-style reality shows.
The Influencer
In the show titled “The Influencer,” we observe as seventy-seven highly influential figures from Korea go head-to-head in a series of challenges to establish who holds the greatest sway. The final influencer remaining is declared the supreme influencer and awarded an impressive grand prize of 300 million won. Notable contestants include RISABAE, PaniBottle, Shim Euddeum, Jang Keun-suk, Sia_jiwoo, KEJIMIN, among others.
Love Is Blind: UK
In a continuation of the original “Love is Blind” series, “Love is Blind: UK” presents us with a group of fortunate individuals residing in the UK, eagerly partaking in an unusual social experiment, with the ultimate goal of discovering genuine love.
Initially, individuals begin their search for a partner in isolated soundproof rooms, where they can’t see each other. Once they establish a romantic bond, couples are given the chance to propose after which they lay eyes on one another for the first time. Following this emotional moment, the couple embarks on their honeymoon before readjusting to reality and planning their wedding. It is when they re-enter the real world that matters become more substantial.
From August 21st, you’ll be able to watch the remaining two episodes (episodes 10 and 11) streaming online on Netflix, while the first nine episodes are already accessible now.
Blue Ribbon Baking Championship
The TV show “Blue Ribbon Baking Championship” features 10 highly skilled bakers from various parts of the U.S., who face off against one another in this competition for a shot at the grand prize of $100,000.
In the TV show “American Pie,” Jason Biggs is the host, while Sandra Lee co-hosts and serves as a judge. Bill Yosses, who was once the Executive Pastry Chef at the White House, and talented baker Bryan Ford are also judges in this competition series. You can watch all eight episodes of the first season on Netflix immediately.
Inside the Mind of a Dog
Hey there fellow gamer! Ever wondered about the inner thoughts of our four-legged friends? If you’re curious like me, I’d highly recommend checking out “Inside the Mind of a Dog” on Netflix. This fascinating documentary, narrated by Rob Lowe, delves deep into the special bond between dogs and their human families. It provides valuable insights into how our canine pals think and act, helping us understand their behavior better.
Worst Ex Ever
As a longtime fan of true crime documentaries, I was eagerly anticipating the release of “Worst Ex Ever,” created by the same minds behind the popular series “Worst Roommate Ever.” Having gone through my fair share of tumultuous romantic relationships myself, I found this four-episode series to be a chilling yet captivating exploration of the dark side of love.
Untold: The Murder of Air McNair
Netflix release date: Aug. 20, 2024
As a long-time fan of both football and true crime documentaries, I am genuinely excited about “Untold: The Murder of Steve McNair.” Having followed McNair’s career from his days as an NFL MVP quarterback, it’s intriguing to see the rise to stardom he experienced. However, the tragic circumstances surrounding his murder in 2009 have always left me with unanswered questions. That’s why I believe this documentary, directed by Rodney Lucas and Taylor Ward, could provide valuable insights into McNair’s life beyond the football field. As someone who has watched countless true crime documentaries, I appreciate when filmmakers delve deep into the details surrounding a case, offering a comprehensive understanding of events leading up to the incident. From the trailer alone, it seems that “Untold: The Murder of Steve McNair” will not disappoint in this regard. It’s a must-watch for anyone interested in true crime or football history.
