The most recent upgrade for Blizzard’s World of Warcraft is out, and it could very well be the glitchiest launch in the game’s extensive timeline. The latest patch 11.1.5 has not only postponed a multitude of intended features, but the ones that have made their way into the game seem rather hastily assembled, as if held together by paper clips and twine.
Ever since the recent update rolled out two days back, the latest content for this long-standing MMO has been plagued with problems reminiscent of World of Warcraft’s issues from years ago. To add insult to injury, newly introduced elements such as the Cooldown Manager lack the option for customizable abilities, while new quests, features and more simply fail to function properly.
World of Warcraft Patch 11.1.5 is borked
According to PCGamer, the recent World of Warcraft update has left many seasoned players in a state of disbelief due to its high level of issues. One of the main attractions, the Flame’s Radiance faction, is so flawed that tasks associated with it are still not being completed as this text is being written.
The update version 11.1.5 seems to have caused problems in the penultimate boss fight of the “Liberation of Undermine” raid, called Mug’Zee. Players aren’t having trouble getting credit for defeating the boss, but other aspects of the raid are malfunctioning. The rewards and titles associated with the raid are bugged, and certain skips have been removed. Additionally, some players with lower reputation levels are receiving large reputation boosts just by completing the raid once.
Due to additional bugs that came with the update, many players have experienced a significant decrease in their game’s Undercoin currency following Blizzard’s reversal of a cross-character bug. The Great Vault is now providing duplicate items to players, video settings are unexpectedly changing, talents are malfunctioning, and numerous other problems are quickly emerging as soon as the previous issues are being swiftly fixed.
In addition to the glitchy content, the release of World of Warcraft Patch 11.1.5 feels quite peculiar. A significant portion of content scheduled for the update has been frustratingly delayed, making it unavailable for players at this time.
In simple terms, it appears the recent World of Warcraft upgrade is a chaotic disaster. Regrettably, I haven’t managed to re-engage yet – my apologies, fellow players, as I’m fully engrossed in Oblivion at the moment. However, given the game’s 21-year legacy, I’m grateful I missed this particular update because it seems to have fallen flat. It’s a bumpy ride, very bumpy indeed, and I hope Blizzard can smooth out their development process for future updates so they don’t cause as much disruption.
