World of Warcraft devs tease major Demon Hunters overhaul nine years after their debut

For some time, Blizzard’s development of World of Warcraft has received both praise and criticism, marked by frequent bugs during updates and neglecting older game content.

It seems that the forthcoming update 11.2 for World of Warcraft, titled “Ghosts of K’aresh,” is primarily geared towards a class that has been overlooked for quite some time – the Demon Hunters.

World of Warcraft teases new specialisation

Introduced in the 2016 Legion expansion, the Demon Hunter class at present offers only two specializations. Being the sole class in the game with just two options to select, some players argue that Blizzard may have neglected this nearly decade-old class.

Looks like the next World of Warcraft update is bringing good news for me as a Demon Hunter player – it appears they’re getting some well-deserved attention!

As a thrilled fan, I couldn’t help but get excited watching the first look video of Ghosts of K’aresh. Blizzard unveiled the gameplay for the latest addition to their Manaforge Omega raid. In this intense battle, players engage in a fierce confrontation with three formidable Demon Hunters. One of these opponents showcases an entirely new specialization that has yet to be accessible to players.

In this proposed new Demon Hunter specialization, Non-Player Characters (NPCs) are adorned in captivating purple attire and wield dual-glaives that pulsate with intense Void power. This latest addition appears to be positioned between the existing specializations of Havok and Vengeance, hinting at a potential third option becoming available.

As an ardent follower, I’m thrilled by the speculation surrounding the upcoming WoW expansion, Midnight. According to the insights of WoWHead, a renowned WoW blog, this expansion might not introduce a new class, but instead, offer fresh specializations. This could potentially expand the playstyle possibilities for existing classes, like the Demon Hunter, and finally grant fourth specializations to other classes that have been eagerly awaiting it!

Before the potential release of the Demon Hunters update, it’s worth noting that the Evoker class was the last one to receive its third specification, which was introduced in World of Warcraft (WoW) in 2022 along with the Dragonflight expansion. Consequently, Demon Hunter players have been patiently waiting for quite some time to finally acquire their third specialization within Blizzard’s popular MMO game.

Although Evoker’s third specialization hasn’t significantly increased its class popularity, it remains the least favorite among players. Despite recent favor from Blizzard, there are still more players who prefer the Demon Hunter class. Given this trend, it’s logical that the more popular class will receive some focus in the game sometime this year.
