Playing World of Warcraft Classic brings us back to WoW’s Golden Age, but with recent updates in modern WoW being particularly troublesome, some players might find playing it repeatedly a bit monotonous. Fortunately, Blizzard is still developing fresh content for this classic MMO.
Over the last few weeks, enthusiasts of World of Warcraft Classic and streamers have been moving over to another classic MMO, Old School RuneScape by Jagex. Transitioning from Hardcore WoW to Hardcore Ironman OSRS, veterans of World of Warcraft are enjoying their new experience in Jagex’s aging MMO as well.
Observing an increase in players joining the game temporarily before their expected return to World of Warcraft, developer Jagex has been attentive to this trend. Given the record-breaking Twitch viewership, the developer anticipates that these fresh players could contribute to further enhancing the game’s quality and experience.
In reaction to a video featuring WoW streamer Guzu trying out Old School RuneScape’s (OSRS) Hardcore Ironman mode for the first time, Jagex developer Mod Gengis shared his thoughts about new players joining the game.
Gengis expressed his enthusiasm, saying he’d appreciate learning about the key points,” or simply, “Gengis asked for a summary of the main points.” And, “We’re constantly seeking opportunities to discuss ways to enhance the First-Time User Experience (FTUE).
I’m absolutely thrilled that they’re giving Old School a try! It’s a massive honor for me, and I genuinely hope they, as well as everyone watching, have an amazing time on this journey!
Players of World of Warcraft (WoW) are finding the transition to Old School RuneScape (OSRS) invigorating, particularly since builds don’t become completely obsolete from one patch to another. As one WoW enthusiast put it: “I find it incredibly refreshing that I can play a character who won’t be outdated a year down the line.
Old School RuneScape and World of Warcraft Classic might not share identical atmospheres, yet they’re both exceptional massively multiplayer role-playing games (MMORPGs). It’s fascinating to observe fans venturing into new territories as they explore other games for the first time.
Besides World of Warcraft Classic, Blizzard is developing additional content for the standard World of Warcraft, with more expansions planned. At present, the MMO is hosting its latest Collector’s Bounty event; however, the rare item drops aren’t as thrilling as they ought to be.
