The DCU Wonder Woman movie has received a casting update.
According to recent reports, the success of James Gunn’s Superman film has elevated Wonder Woman as a top priority for Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Studios. As of now, no director has been appointed for the project, and there’s no confirmed release date. However, it is known that Ana Nogueira is currently penning the script for the movie.
Lately, it’s been buzzing that DC is searching for an actress similar to Milly Alcock from TV shows, specifically one who has a resume like hers, to portray Diana Prince in upcoming productions.
As a gamer, I’d put it this way: “Nah, I don’t go by their prior TV or film roles when considering a major part. It’s the audition and the fittingness for the role that matters most to me. Milly was not chosen because of her past, but because she stood out as the ideal candidate for the job. (And, just to clarify, we’re nowhere near casting Wonder Woman yet; we won’t even start discussing it until a script is completely written.)
What is the latest Wonder Woman update?
As DC Studios reportedly searches for a new actress to portray Diana Prince in the upcoming Wonder Woman film, Jeff Sneider of The InSneider suggests they might be aiming for someone relatively unrecognized.
As a gamer, I’m excitedly anticipating the casting news for the upcoming project. Contrary to popular speculation featuring Adria Arjona, my sources hint that Gunn might embark on a worldwide hunt for an unknown actress who possesses Mediterranean features and has a striking dark appearance. Apologies to Elizabeth Debicki fans, but it seems she won’t be fitting the bill this time around.
Further details are not available at this time.
Beyond the upcoming Wonder Woman movie, there’s another project underway – a TV show named “Paradise Lost.” However, unlike the movie, this series is set prior to Diana’s birth and currently lacks a confirmed release date.
In December 2024, Gunn and Peter Safran’s DC Universe (DCU) launched officially, starting with an animated series called Creature Commandos. Coming up next month is Peacemaker Season 2. The Lanterns TV show, Clayface, and Supergirl are slated for release in 2026.
