In a nutshell, the preview for The Wolf Man doesn’t reveal much, yet hints at Christopher Abbott and Julia Garner experiencing personal upheavals. For Abbott, his transformation involves becoming the Wolf Man, while for Garner, it’s about shielding their family from this very creature.

Previously, Leigh Whannell was responsible for directing the reboot of “The Invisible Man” produced by Blumhouse. Alongside Corbett Tuck, Lauren Schuker Blum, and Rebecca Angelo, he also co-authored the script for a new adaptation of “The Wolf Man”. It’s said that this contemporary retelling will focus on a family being pursued by a ruthless creature of prey.

In this upcoming movie, Julia Garner, Christopher Abbott, Sam Jaeger, and several others are set to appear. Before Abbott joined the cast, Ryan Gosling had initially been chosen for the lead role. However, Gosling decided not to continue with the project. Yet, he will still be an executive producer along with Ken Kao, Bea Sequeira, Mel Turner, and Whannell. The film is produced by Jason Blum.

Leigh Whannell is recognized for penning several horror films under the direction of James Wan, such as Saw (2004), Dead Silence (2007), and Insidious (2010). He stepped into directing with Insidious: Chapter 3 in 2015, followed by Upgrade (2018) and The Invisible Man (2020) featuring Elisabeth Moss. More recently, he contributed to the story of Insidious: The Red Door (2023), which was helmed by Patrick Wilson.
