Universal Pictures has revealed that the horror remake of the iconic 1941 monster movie “The Wolf Man,” titled as such, will premiere on their streaming platform Peacock. The announcement follows over a month since the movie initially hit theaters.
The story revolves around Blake, a San Francisco husband and father, who inherits his old rural Oregon home following his father’s disappearance. His marriage with his career-driven wife, Charlotte, is on the rocks. To rekindle their relationship, he convinces her to take a break from city life and visit the property with their daughter Ginger. However, as they arrive at the farmhouse late at night, they are ambushed by an unidentified beast, forcing them to barricade themselves inside. As the night progresses, Blake starts acting oddly and transforming into something unusual. Faced with this terrifying situation within their home, Charlotte must decide whether the threat within is more dangerous than the one lurking outside.
When is the Wolf Man Peacock release date?
Starting from April 18, you can stream the movie “Wolf Man” exclusively on Peacock. Unfortunately, during its time in cinemas, the film didn’t do as well as expected, earning just over $34 million worldwide against a reported production cost of around $25 million.
The movie titled Wolf Man was helmed by Leigh Whannell, who also co-wrote the script with Corbett Tuck, Lauren Schuker Blum, and Rebecca Angelo. This film boasts an impressive cast that includes Emmy winner Julia Garner (from Ozark), Golden Globe nominee Christopher Abbott (known for Girls and Catch-22), Matilda Firth (of Coma fame), Sam Jaeger (recognized from The Handmaid’s Tale), Ben Prendergast (The Sojourn Audio Drama), and Benedict Hardie (familiar from The Invisible Man). Jason Blum took on the producer role, with Whannell, Ryan Gosling, Ken Kao, Bea Sequeira, and Mel Turner serving as executive producers. This production was a joint effort between Blumhouse Productions and Motel Movies.
