Director Premkumar made it clear that the recent speculations about the sequel to the Vijay Sethupathi-led film were entirely untrue. He emphasized that the second part of the movie could only be produced with the original cast. Additionally, he noted that actor Pradeep Ranganathan had been approached for a different project altogether.
In his own words, he stated that the recent news in question is false, as has been the case before. The number combination “96-2” can only be associated with the original cast from the movie “96”. Contrary to speculation, actor Pradeep Ranganathan was approached for an entirely different story, unrelated to “96-2”. He reiterated that dealing with these misleading fake news stories is becoming more challenging day by day. Lastly, he appealed to the honest press and media to help clarify the truth.

At an award ceremony, filmmaker Premkumar announced plans for a follow-up to the movie “96”. He explained, “I’ve penned down the story of 96 myself. Regarding the cast, the actors from the initial part will be returning to their roles without any changes.” Further information about the film is currently being kept confidential by its creators.
