As a dedicated Outlander fan who has weathered countless storms with Claire and Jamie, I must admit my concern is mounting as we seem to be treading into uncharted waters with the release dates of our beloved series. The pushback of “The Couple Next Door” from 2024 to 2025 has left me questioning Starz’s navigational skills, especially since the series has already been filmed and aired in the UK!
Given the shift of “The Couple Next Door” to 2025, I’m slightly worried that “Outlander: Blood of My Blood” might also be delayed. Could it possibly be postponed as well?
Trusting Starz becomes challenging when they fail to communicate about schedule changes, as was the case with The Couple Next Door, which was initially set for a 2024 release but then we heard nothing more, despite the series having been filmed and under production. In fact, it’s already aired in the UK!
From our latest update, the series is expected to premiere “this winter,” implying that it might air in late 2025. Is it possible that other shows will experience delays as a result of this scheduling?
Outlander: Blood of My Blood is slated to arrive in 2025
When Starz announced that filming for the series had wrapped up, they also revealed a release timeline set for 2025. Although this timeframe is quite broad, it at least provided some certainty about further explorations in the realm of Outlander coming up in the next year. Given recent developments, it seems that Season 8 of Outlander may be delayed until 2026.
Although we initially anticipated that Outlander Season 7B would premiere earlier in 2024, it seems that might not be the case. This shift could potentially be why The Couple Next Door had to be postponed. Such changes could significantly impact other shows as well.
It can be challenging to place faith in a network when it frequently strays from its scheduled plans or only provides release years, as has been the case with The Couple Next Door and Outlander: Blood of My Blood. Despite complications such as the pandemic and actor/writer strikes in 2023, these specific series were not affected, and production on Outlander: Blood of My Blood has recently concluded.
As a dedicated Outlander fan, I’m holding onto hope that we’ll finally get our hands on the prequel series in 2025. With Season 7B dropping this year and Season 8 potentially airing late 2025 at the earliest, it seems like 2026 might be more likely. But hey, Starz isn’t one to leave its viewers high and dry during those long Droughtlander periods, so a prequel series could fill that gap nicely. Plus, considering the storyline, it just makes sense for the prequel to air in 2025, giving it time to air, get renewed, and start production again for a potential 2027 kickoff.
However, I’m concerned at Starz right now because of the way it’s quietly pushing a lot back.
