As a die-hard fan of Tamil cinema, I must confess that my heart skipped a beat when I heard about Anirudh Ravichander‘s special appearance in Kanguva! Having followed his music career since Vettaiyan, it feels like a dream come true to see him stepping into the limelight as an actor.
At present, Anirudh Ravichander appears to be quite busy, what with creating hit tracks for movies like Vettaiyan and Kanguva, among others. With the Suriya-starring movie getting close to its premiere, there are rumors that the artist has added a unique touch to Kanguva. These speculations have been addressed by filmmaker Siva recently.
During the promotion of Kanguva, its director Siruthai Siva spoke about Anirudh Ravichander’s kind gesture towards his film. He confirmed that the composer not only contributed music but also made a special on-screen appearance in it. Specifically, Anirudh will make a cameo in the song YOLO, alongside Suriya and Disha Patani. Furthermore, he promised fans that this party-themed track would offer an unforgettable experience for the audience.
For those unfamiliar, Anirudh will make his second guest appearance within one of his own compositions; his first such instance was alongside Rajinikanth in the song Manasilaayo from Vettaiyan. In this new film, Anirudh has created some fantastic tracks that have quickly captivated fans with their catchy rhythms.
Returning to the vibrant realm of Kanguva, two of its captivating tracks have been unveiled – first, the pulsating “Fire” tune, followed by the lively “YOLO”. The former offered a tantalizing glimpse into the realm of power and suspense that permeates Kanguva. In stark contrast, the latter is a bubbly party anthem, showcasing Suriya and Disha Patani moving gracefully to the rhythm.
During an interview with TopMob’s Masterclass, Suriya expressed his belief that Kanguva could rival the success of other prominent South cinematic productions such as Baahubali, RRR and more. He stated, “From the very first day of narration, it was clear to us that we were venturing into a different realm. While we’ve watched Baahubali, RRR, and Kalki, for Tamil cinema, Kanguva would be our significant first stride, as I see it.
Before the launch on November 14, 2024, creators of Kanguva are heavily promoting the movie. This upcoming film promises a massive nationwide release and has caught people’s interest for several reasons, including its ambitious scope or the renowned stars who are part of the project.
In addition to Suriya and Disha Patani, the actor Kanguva plays a role, with Bobby Deol taking on the main villain part. Other stars include Natarajan Subramanium, Jagapathi Babu, Yogi Babu, Kovai Sarala, Anandaraj, Suresh Chandra Menon, Redin Kingsley, and several others.
