Will Joe Hill meet his cousins in the Blue Bloods final episodes? (Showrunner weighs in)

As a die-hard Blue Bloods fan who’s been following the Reagans since the very first episode, I must say I’m both excited and sad about the upcoming Season 14B. The news of it being the last season has left a void in my heart, but the promise of big guest appearances and potential spin-offs has me hoping for a happy ending.

The long-running series “Blue Bloods” is drawing to a close, yet it promises to deliver the much-anticipated final scene that fans have been eagerly awaiting! Discover more details here!

Fans of Blue Bloods are still mourning the news that the second half of Season 14 will mark the end for this beloved series. While there was some hope that it might continue, it appears that the story of the Reagans and their NYPD adventures has finally come to a close. It’s been an exciting journey, and the producers are eager to wrap things up in a memorable way.

Although specifics about the plot are scarce, it’s clear that notable guest stars like Debi Mazar and Mira Sorvino will be featured, possibly paving the way for separate spin-offs. Additionally, it seems likely that some previous characters will make a final appearance to ensure a satisfactory conclusion to the series.

Enthusiasts anticipate that some characters who have been seldom seen in the past seasons might make a comeback: Jack (Tony Terraciano), Danny’s elder son, and Nicky (Sami Gayle), Erin’s daughter. These characters have been away due to college commitments, but they’ve occasionally appeared for family gatherings. Unlike Danny’s other son, Sean (portrayed by Tony’s actual brother Andrew Terraciano), they haven’t been regular fixtures.

Additionally, expected is Joe Hill (Will Hochman), son of the late Joseph Reagan, who was tragically taken before the series began. He’s been a consistent presence at family gatherings and collaborations with the rest of the family members. Remarkably, Joe has not appeared in a scene alongside either Nicky or Sean as yet.

Could that change in the final episodes?

Will we see all the Reagans together at last in Blue Bloods Season 14?

According to Kevin Wade, the showrunner, character Joe will be back in the series, and it seems likely that we’ll witness the long-awaited moment when all the Reagan cousins appear on screen together for the first time.

Wade hinted that each of the four characters would appear in the upcoming episodes, and when questioned about a possible meeting between them, he subtly indicated this topic would be revealed in the finale by giving a knowing wink and saying the answer would unfold in the last episode.

It’s likely that Joe has met his cousins before, but those meetings haven’t been shown in the series because it seldom features Christmas dinner episodes. Therefore, the upcoming scene might not represent their initial encounter, but rather the first time they appear together on screen for viewers to see.

Still, the idea that we finally get to see all of the Reagan clan sitting around that dinner table is another reason to get excited over the bittersweet end for Blue Bloods.

Blue Bloods Season 14B premieres Friday, Oct. 18 at 10/9c on CBS.
