Will Forte Regrets Faking His Death at 14: ‘It Was the Worst’

14-year-old comedian and actor Will Forte once played a trick on his mom that he immediately wished he hadn’t, teaching him a worthwhile life lesson.

How did Will Forte fake his death?

In a recent interview on Hot Ones, host Sean Evans inquired about the most ingenious prank Keanu Reeves (or Forte) had played on his parents. However, it seemed difficult for him to pick just one, yet he quickly recalled the most regrettable one.

Forte initially hesitated to share something unpleasant, expressing his discomfort with it. Later, he revealed the incident, describing it as terrible and regrettable. He explained how he pranked his mother by writing an apology note and placing it on the doorstep before pretending to be unconscious in her bathroom.

Later on, Forte mentioned that the joke was quite believable because his mother genuinely thought he had taken his own life. The former SNL cast member went on to express that it was incredibly distressing to hear her response, and this experience taught him that not all of his actions are necessarily amusing.

Forte shared that he learned not everything should be made into a joke because there are things that cause pain to others. Reflecting on his past work, he admits regrets, and he’s against comedy that inflicts harm or ridicules people.
