On the evening of February 3, it was Stephen Colbert’s Late Show where comedian Will Ferrell spoke about his feelings regarding the absence of a nomination for Will & Harper in this year’s Oscars.
As a devoted fan, I found myself just as cozy on my sofa, listening intently as Colbert showered praises upon that extraordinary documentary. The connection between Will Ferrell and Harper Steele was nothing short of captivating, he noted. Intrigued by their bond, Ferrell playfully teased, “Go ahead, ask me if we were Oscar-nominated.” Naturally, Colbert couldn’t resist the bait and soon followed up with his question.
Will Ferrell expressed his disappointment when he didn’t get nominated, saying, “We didn’t make the cut.” Colbert then apologized and playfully swore about the Academy. In response, Ferrell added jokingly that “the documentary branch is particularly unappealing. I wouldn’t want to spend time with them – what a bunch of failures.
