As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I must say that the anticipation for Black Myth: Wukong on Xbox is as thick as a Chinese bamboo forest. The game has already proven its mettle on PC, and it’s high time we Monkey King fans on Xbox get our hands on this action-packed masterpiece.
Title Character Wukong from Black Myth has been one of the most successful games this year, boasting a staggering 2.4 million simultaneous players on Steam during its peak. Regrettably, it’s not currently playable on Xbox. Could there be an Xbox release in the future?
Black Myth: Wukong In A “Baldur’s Gate 3 Situation”
Initially, let’s focus on some positive points. It appears with certainty that Black Myth: Wukong is likely to be launched on Xbox. As a matter of fact, an Xbox logo is visible in one of the game trailers. However, there’s a downside – the release might take some time due to technical complications.
According to Forbes, it appears that the Xbox version of Black Myth: Wukong might encounter delays similar to Baldur’s Gate 3. While Baldur’s Gate 3 was released for PC on August 3, 2023, and PS5 on September 6, 2023, Xbox players had to wait until December 8, 2023 to play the game. The developers seem to have faced more challenges in creating the Xbox port compared to the PS5 version, and it seems that a similar situation might be occurring with Black Myth: Wukong.
Currently, there hasn’t been an announced release date for the Xbox, but we speculate that it might be around three months or more, similar to the launch timeline of Baldur’s Gate. The absence of any Xbox-related marketing before its release leads us to believe that this could potentially be the case.
Fingers crossed for the folks on Xbox.
