Universal Pictures has unveiled a fresh new video titled “Wicked: For Good” for the upcoming sequel to the widely praised musical fantasy drama set for release in 2024. With Cynthia Erivo portraying Elphaba and Ariana Grande as Glinda, this eagerly awaited film is scheduled to hit cinemas on November 21, 2025.

As a gamer, I’m really hyped about the sneak peek of the upcoming Wicked movie! The short clip ends with a shattered glass window, and it feels like we’re in for a showdown between Elphaba and Glinda, just as the sequel’s poster suggests. They’re positioned on opposite sides, ready to go head-to-head. In an interview, Jonathan Bailey, who played Fiyero Tigelaar in Bridgerton and will reprise the role in Wicked, hinted that the world becomes more complex and weighty in the sequel. He’s also thrilled for fans to witness the new direction the story takes. Can’t wait to see it unfold!

In this new rendition, Jon M. Chu is back in the director’s chair, having collaborated with Winnie Holzman and Dana Fox on the script. Joining Erivo, Grande, and Bailey once more are Ethan Slater as Boq Woodsman, Marissa Bode as Nessarose Thropp, Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible, and Jeff Goldblum as The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. The initial episode has maintained an impressive 87% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, based on a total of 391 reviews. It was successful in winning two out of its ten Oscar nominations, with accolades in the categories of Best Costume Design and Best Production Design.
