Wicked Box Office Dominance Continues, Lands 2nd Best November Tuesday

As a seasoned gamer who has navigated countless virtual worlds and universes, I must say that stepping into the theater to watch “Wicked” felt like diving headfirst into a vibrant, enchanting game level. The box office success of this film is not just a testament to its captivating storyline or stellar cast, but also to the enduring appeal of the magical realm of Oz.

The box office earnings for the movie “Wicked” are still thriving, as it has just surpassed the second-highest grossing Tuesday takings at the box office during the month of November.

What are Wicked’s latest box office numbers?

Based on an article by Deadline, Wicked earned approximately $16.8 million last Tuesday, making it the second-highest grossing film for a November Tuesday, trailing only behind Disney’s Frozen 2. The musical adaptation has been consistently recording remarkable earnings.

To date, the movie Wicked has grossed approximately $144.9 million in North America, and it saw a 5% increase in earnings on Tuesday compared to its exceptionally high takings of $15.8 million on Monday.

As a devoted admirer, I’d like to share that the enchanting “Wicked” film series are masterfully directed by Jon M. Chu. The screenplay, rich in narrative, is crafted by Winnie Holzman, who also penned the original musical’s script. It’s a cinematic adaptation rooted in Gregory Maguire’s bestselling novel and the Tony-winning stage production.

As a gamer, I’m super excited about the stellar lineup for this upcoming film! I can hardly wait to see Ariana Grande bring Galinda Upland to life, while Cynthia Erivo takes on the role of Elphaba Thropp. Michelle Yeoh will be captivating as Madame Morrible, and Jonathan Bailey is set to charm us as Fiyero Tigelaar. Jeff Goldblum will undoubtedly add his unique magic as the Wizard of Oz, Peter Dinklage will amaze as Doctor Dillamond, Bowen Yang steps into the shoes of Pfannee, Keala Settle takes on Miss Coddle, Marissa Bode brings Nessarose Thropp to life, Bronwyn James embodies ShenShen, and Ethan Slater portrays Boq. And that’s just the start! Can’t wait for this incredible ensemble performance!

This movie explores an unheard-of account of Oz’s witches: Elphaba, a misunderstood young woman with unique green skin, who is still learning about her hidden powers; and Glinda, a well-liked young woman, blessed by privilege and ambition, who has yet to understand her true emotions. They become acquainted as classmates at Shiz University in the magical realm of Oz and form an unexpected but deep friendship. A meeting with The Wonderful Wizard of Oz brings a turning point to their friendship, and their lives subsequently diverge greatly.

Wicked: Part One is out now in theaters. The sequel, Wicked: Part Two, is currently set for November 21, 2025.
