Following her highly praised guest role in the cinematic version of “Wicked” by Universal, Kristen Chenoweth is now preparing to contribute her singing talents, as well as her songwriting abilities, to a completely distinct film project.
In a forthcoming animated film titled “The King of Kings,” which is based on the life of Jesus Christ and distributed by Angel Studios, the same company behind the 2023 hit “The Sound of Freedom,” the esteemed actor who has won Tonys and Emmys for his performances on stage and screen will perform an original end credit song that he sings himself.
As a movie buff, I can’t help but share my thoughts on the captivating song “Live Like That.” This tune, penned collaboratively by Chenoweth, Collins, Nichols, Wynn, and myself, carries a heartfelt narrative that echoes a longing for childlike faith. The production genius behind it is Keith Thomas.
Set for release in U.S. cinemas on April 11, “The King of Kings” – inspired by Charles Dickens’ novel “The Life of Our Lord” – is marketed as a modern retelling of Jesus’ life. It blends Dickens’ storytelling with a spiritual journey, presented from the perspective of a child.
The film arrives in theaters on April 11.
