There’s been a lot of talk among WWE fans that the group Damage CTRL may have been disbanded. This team, consisting of Bayley, IYO SKY, Dakota Kai, Asuka, and Kairi Sane, has faced some challenges due to injuries or releases of key members. Since WWE hasn’t made any official statement about the group’s status, fans are left wondering what’s going on.
Let me share additional information on the present situation of Damage CTRL, plus some buzz circulating around this particular group.
Was Damage CTRL disbanded at WWE?
According to reports, WWE has apparently dissolved the women’s group known as Damage CTRL, effectively bringing an end to a once influential team operating offstage.
In early May 2025, it’s reported that WWE made a decision within their organization, coinciding with Dakota Kai being let go from her contract. After this event, commentators were advised to cease referring to any remaining group members as part of the faction known as Damage CTRL.
According to a report by 4II Mania published in May, Damage CTRL has been experiencing a slow decline over the past few months. Bayley, the group’s founder and leader, parted ways with the faction before WrestleMania 40. The departure of Dakota Kai, another crucial member, further weakened the group. With Asuka and Kairi Sane both injured, IYO SKY was the only active competitor left in the group. By the time Kairi returned to WWE programming in May, Damage CTRL had already disbanded.
According to WWE insiders who spoke to Fightful, there are no immediate plans for a complete reunion of the stable (Damage CTRL) once Asuka returns. However, they didn’t completely rule out the possibility of some members working together again in the future. The Damage CTRL name could potentially be used again down the line. For now, though, the group is considered inactive.
Despite the group having disbanded, some of its ex-members still occasionally team up on WWE television. For instance, IYO SKY and Kairi Sane have recently shared screen time. It’s also possible that Asuka could rejoin them once she recovers medically.
Currently, Bayley is back on WWE TV, taking on a new single role. This past week, she initiated a brand-new rivalry with the current WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion, Becky Lynch.
