Fans of Love Island USA were left bewildered and annoyed during what was expected to be an exciting Season 7 debut night. Contrary to the extensively publicized start time of 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT, the new season failed to air on Peacock as planned, leading some viewers to speculate whether the episode had been scrapped or if there were technical issues behind the scenes.
Right on schedule plus a minute, Peacock hit us up with an update. They said, “Hold your horses, gamers! Tonight’s show might be a tad late. But trust us, it’ll be worth it. Keep your eyes glued here!” They dropped that bomb on X (the old Twitter).
During the wait for the premiere among U.S. viewers, Canadian fans shared they could stream it instantly via the CTV platform, hinting at an issue confined to Peacock’s U.S. broadcast, which appeared more related to technical difficulties rather than problems with production or licensing.
Approximately 40 minutes past the hour, the issue got sorted out. By around 6:40 PM Pacific Time, Peacock confirmed that the episode was airing: “Thank you for your understanding! The Love Island USA episode is now live. Sit back and enjoy the premiere.
The delayed entry didn’t keep viewers’ excitement at bay for too long. Eventually, everyone got to witness Ariana Madix making her highly anticipated grand entrance again. After stealing the show as a guest bombshell in Season 5 and making her hosting debut in Season 6, Madix is back with renewed vigor to headline Season 7, which unfolds in the beautiful tropical setting of Fiji.
