Why Was Barbara Corcoran Fired & Rehired on Shark Tank

As a gaming enthusiast, I’ve come to associate the name Barbara Corcoran with the hit TV show “Shark Tank.” Yet, there are some who might be unaware that she was let go from the show before even taping a single episode. But just like when you lose in a game, she didn’t give up. Instead, she bounced back and today, her success on the show is undeniable.

What’s the story behind Barbara Corcoran getting fired from Shark Tank?

Barbara Corcoran recently chatted with LinkedIn’s CEO, Ryan Roslansky, during a podcast. She disclosed an instance where she was initially let go and later rehired on Shark Tank following a straightforward email. This situation proved challenging for her, but Barbara momentarily faltered. However, she quickly gathered herself and articulated something that got her back on the right path.

Before the Shark Tank show began filming, Corcoran got a call from a woman inviting her to join the program. Excitedly, she accepted and shared the news with loved ones that she was heading to Hollywood. However, just before she could start filming an episode, the producers notified her that they were assigning her position to someone else. Despite signing the contract, the producers decided to alter their decision.

After experiencing a moment of panic, Corcoran took a moment to compose herself and penned an email to Mark Burnett, the creator of Shark Tank. In her message, she highlighted how significant opportunities had come her way in the past following rejections. She concluded by expressing her hope that he would grant her the chance to compete for a seat on the show, and confidently stated, “I anticipate being on that plane on Tuesday.

In response to this working out, Burnett expressed that she’d have an opportunity to vie for the position. Eventually, she regained it. Currently, she has been a part of Shark Tank for fifteen years and struck 130 agreements during her tenure on the program.

Her story remains an inspiration to many.
