Since its initial broadcast over two decades ago, ESPN has aired approximately 4,000 episodes of this talk show.

Initially, this talk show debuted on November 4, 2002, replacing Unscripted hosted by Chris Connelly in its timeslot. Since then, it’s been broadcast every day at 5:00 PM Eastern Time.
It was recently announced by ESPN’s executive Vice president and sports news editor, David Roberts, that Tony Reali’s show, “Around the Horn,” will be coming to an end. The show has been on air for over two decades, which is quite exceptional in media, and they are looking forward to celebrating its many achievements before it signs off in May.
The final episode of Around the Horn will air on May 23, 2025.
Why did ESPN cancel Around the Horn?
The exact reason behind Around the Horn getting canceled has not been revealed.
Instead, it’s thought that the cancellation stems from ESPN adjusting their programming schedule. Despite cancelling multiple other shows, the network appears to be eager to introduce fresh content that resonates with today’s audience.
David Roberts went on to thank the entire team behind Around the Horn. Specifically, he acknowledged Tony and the rotating panel of experts, but also highlighted the crucial role of the production team headed by Erik Rydholm and Aaron Solomon, who have been key to the show’s lasting success since its inception.
Furthermore, this news comes following ESPN’s decision to end their 35-year partnership with Major League Baseball.
