Why Tom Holland’s Spider-Man Won’t Be in Daredevil: Born Again

Speculation about possible appearances of other Marvel Cinematic Universe heroes in the upcoming “Daredevil: Born Again,” starring Charlie Cox, has grown as its release date approaches, with Spider-Man being the latest character in question. Although Matt Murdock (Cox) and Spider-Man (Tom Holland) appeared together in 2021’s “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” there hasn’t been a subsequent live-action meeting of these characters. Furthermore, producer Brad Winderbaum’s recent statements suggest that fans may have to be patient for any future collaboration between the two characters.

Brad Winderbaum explains if Spider-Man can appear in Daredevil: Born Again

During our latest chat, a high-ranking Marvel executive expressed doubts about the possibility of a live-action collaboration featuring Spider-Man alongside Daredevil’s alternate identity, Matt Murdock, in the upcoming series “Daredevil: Reborn”.

During Brandon Davis’ latest chat on Phase Hero: A Film & TV Podcast, Brad Winderbaum hinted at a potential appearance of Tom Holland in the upcoming Daredevil series. “I’m not entirely clear on the specifics,” he said, “but I believe Sony holds rights for long-form television, which might mean he could drop by. You know, they could even do a 30-minute animated segment, I think.” As a gamer eagerly waiting for this series, these words sparked excitement within me!

Contrary to Winderbaum’s claim, Jake Hamilton’s latest interview with Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio about Daredevil: Born Again unveiled an engaging detail related to Spider-Man. During the conversation, Hamilton accidentally hinted at the web-slinger being mentioned in Episode 2 of Daredevil: Born Again.

As a gamer, I’d put it like this: “In the second episode, Wilson Fisk subtly mentions a kid donning a Spider-Man costume. It’s a hint that despite this story being focused and personal, there are plenty of superheroes roaming around in our universe.

It appears that Daredevil: Born Again implies the inclusion of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, but due to the current storyline, his possible appearance within the most recent Marvel Cinematic Universe series on Disney+ is not feasible at this time.
