Over the weekend, the esteemed WWE Hall of Famer known as “The Undertaker” was present at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans for Super Bowl LIX. In this matchup, the Philadelphia Eagles emerged victorious over the Kansas City Chiefs with a score of 40-22 on February 9, 2025.
The occasion created a lot of excitement, with Kendrick Lamar’s thrilling act and Taylor Swift encountering unexpected jeers being just two highlights. In more recent times, Vince McMahon has been faced with significant accusations. Yet, The Undertaker opted to appear alongside McMahon in public events amidst the ongoing disputes, which stirred curiosity. Known as The Deadman, he accepted the possibility of negative reaction but upheld his choice. He justified attending the event with McMahon, highlighting their lengthy friendship.

On Busted Open Radio, The Undertaker shared why he accompanied Vince McMahon to Super Bowl LIX. He clarified, “I was his guest, indeed. I understand the criticism that may come my way. Some people say, ‘You two were so close, you know the past,’ but I respond, ‘I don’t know what hasn’t been resolved, we don’t discuss those matters.’ However, he is a friend of mine. Initially, he provided me with an opportunity to transform my life and achieve greatness. Over the years, as friends, he filled roles such as a father figure, a brother, and a mentor, especially after my father passed away.

In light of the ongoing disputes, The Undertaker expressed that he was not qualified to pass judgment on McMahon’s actions. He stated, “Ultimately, there is only one judge – the one above us. He will distribute justice as each of us deserves in the end. I believe those living in glass houses should refrain from throwing stones… I may not always agree with what others do, but it doesn’t alter the fact that I have affection for someone, and consider them a friend.” (via WrestlingInc)
For several decades, The Undertaker has stood by Vince McMahon, standing behind him even during the Monday Night War with WCW in the 1990s. This long-standing bond illustrates their close relationship, and as The Undertaker himself put it, McMahon took on a fatherly role for him.
