As a devoted fan, I must admit that tackling each unique main boss in “The First Berserker: Khazan” presents an exciting hurdle to conquer. And it’s no different when traversing the diverse regions during the main missions. However, when it comes to the optional missions in “The First Berserker: Khazan”, I found the selection of bosses and locations, while still offering a challenge, to be somewhat limited compared to what was initially promised.
In the game The First Berserker: Khazan, although the prizes for optional missions vary from those gained through main missions, the adversaries and settings you’ll face in the optional missions are usually alike, with the differences being minimal, often just cosmetic adjustments. This repetition of bosses and environments in The First Berserker: Khazan can be quite underwhelming given its relatively short length.
The First Berserker: Khazan’s Recycled Content Is a Double-Edged Sword
Optional Missions Provide New Rewards from Old Bosses
In The First Berserker: Khazan, as I conquer the final battles in each region, I often find myself presented with a handful of additional missions – these aren’t mandatory, but they’re definitely worth tackling! Not only do they offer chances to gather extra Lacrima and upgrade my equipment before diving into the next main mission, but completing them also opens up some exciting advancements for my character. I get to interact with new NPC merchants, learn gear crafting techniques, and even reroll my existing gear – all of which significantly impact my gameplay experience!
In the game ‘The First Berserker: Khazan’, the mechanics for creating and re-rolling gear stand out. These are effective methods for acquiring high-tier armor sets and weapons, and they reduce a player’s dependency on enemies dropping rare items. If players choose not to complete optional quests or unlock these advancement systems, their game could become more challenging, considering that the game is already tough. Therefore, it’s strongly suggested that players tackle each available optional mission in ‘The First Berserker: Khazan’.
When it comes to the payoff, the additional missions in The First Berserker: Khazan generally prove to be a good investment of time once completed promptly. However, from an architectural perspective, they can come across as repetitive and uninspiring, given that many of them recycle bosses, enemies, or settings from the primary missions with minimal unique adjustments. This repetition is particularly noticeable in the optional mission bosses, which are frequently indistinguishable from their main mission counterparts, save for cosmetic differences in appearance and title.
Recycled Bosses and Environments Make an Already Short Game Feel Repetitive
Essentially, “The First Berserker: Khazan” is a fairly brief game, offering approximately 16 distinct main adversaries. Although not compulsory for advancement, players seeking to amass all the unique bonuses and crafting resources from each boss must revisit and conquer them multiple times. Consequently, returning to each region to slay these bosses again in optional missions can result in a rather repetitive experience.
To add, when participants engage in NG+ within the game “The First Berserker: Khazan”, they’ll find themselves battling the primary and additional bosses once more.
In The First Berserker: Khazan, players will naturally enhance their abilities every time they confront the same boss. Although initial battles may be challenging, players should find it less daunting when facing the bosses again in optional missions. Moreover, the numerous advancement systems and NPC services, which are exclusively unlocked by completing certain optional missions, are usually worth the investment. However, while these optional missions offer game-altering rewards and chances to hone and excel in the distinctive combat of The First Berserker: Khazan, their repeated content can make them both beneficial and potentially frustrating.
