As a die-hard General Hospital fan, I must say that Steven Webber’s storyline has been one of the most intriguing and suspenseful arcs in recent years. The twist about him being imprisoned for murder was truly unexpected and kept us on our toes.
Fans of General Hospital are puzzling over what crime Steven Webber supposedly committed that led to his incarceration. The scene shows him happily getting married to Olivia, but just as the wedding reaches its climax, officers arrive to whisk him away to prison. Yet, after a few years, he was freed from prison. However, the audience remains intrigued and eager to find out what caused Steven’s imprisonment in the first place.
So, here’s all you need to know about Steven Webber’s time in prison.
Why was Scott Reeves’ Steven Webber in prison in General Hospital?
It’s said that Steven Webber potentially committed a heinous act by taking the life of a comatose ex-murderer, with the intention of using his organs to save a teenager.
Steven and Olivia’s connection deepened following their shared experience of surviving a bus accident. Regrettably, this bond was damaged when Steven’s ex-fiancée Maggie entered the picture. Maggie put him in a difficult position by asking him to arrange an organ donation to save a critically ill teenager’s life.
After Olivia and I officially became an item, we planned to take our vows and start our new life together. But just as we were exchanging our heartfelt promises, a shocking turn of events unfolded – the police burst in, revealing that my past actions had come back to haunt me. It was revealed that I had taken another patient’s life, and I was sentenced to spend the rest of my days behind bars, tearing apart our dreams of a shared future.
At the same time, Johnny Zacchara exerted immense stress on Steven, pushing him towards selling organs illegally on the black market. However, when he was hesitant to engage in such unlawful activities, Zacchara ultimately had him arrested for a murder in Memphis.
To shield her son from incarceration, his mom took a drastic step. She committed a murder – Maggie’s – and accepted the punishment herself. After serving his time, Steven distanced himself from Port Charles and embarked on a fresh start. The soap opera frequently references him, and it appears he has recently moved to Sedona.
11 years ago, Steven was last spotted on General Hospital and it’s said that he will reappear in the soap opera. In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, Reeves shared his excitement about Steven’s upcoming return. He reminisced about a phone conversation he had with Frank Valentini, the executive producer of General Hospital.
The actor expressed, “Valentini informed me that Steve has been freed from prison on parole. Hearing his storyline concept made me thrilled beyond words. I exclaimed, ‘Wow, Frank, this is fantastic! I’d be eager to work on this project!’
