It’s been disclosed that WWE has been reconsidering its strategy for ex-world champion Drew McIntyre during WrestleMania 41, following his elimination by Damian Priest at the WWE Royal Rumble 2025.
After his dismissal, it became known that McIntyre expressed dissatisfaction about how the event unfolded. The elimination lacked impact as Priest and McIntyre clashed with LA Knight and Logan Paul right in the center of the ring.
According to reports, McIntyre appears to have been upset that the special moment was spoiled, allegedly by LA Knight. However, during a match on WWE SmackDown last week, these two performers collaborated smoothly without any problems arising between them.
Originally, WWE intended for McIntyre to be eliminated by Priest as a lead-up to a WrestleMania 31 match between them. However, while the company remains committed to arranging a significant confrontation between these ex-World Heavyweight Champions, recent information indicates that WWE is rethinking their plans due to audience pushback.
According to Dr. Chris Featherstone of Sportskeeda, there have been reconsiderations regarding Drew McIntyre’s original WrestleMania 31 plans on the platform previously known as Twitter. Additionally, it was reported that his possible WrestleMania 31 opponent has ignited debates within WWE.
Following rumors of a potential WrestleMania 41 bout between Drew McIntyre and Damian Priest, fans have been clamoring for McIntyre to secure more prominence in light of his remarkable 2024 performances. In the year 2024, McIntyre became embroiled in significant conflicts with Seth Rollins and Damian Priest, as well as maintaining his longstanding rivalry with CM Punk.
Last weekend, it was confirmed that Drew McIntyre transitioned to WWE SmackDown, with his ambitions now focused on Cody Rhodes and the Undisputed WWE Championship. Furthermore, he has been granted a place in the Men’s Elimination Chamber match alongside John Cena, CM Punk, and Logan Paul.
As a passionate fan, I’m excitedly hoping that if I manage to win the upcoming Elimination Chamber match, it might just land me a title shot against Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41 in glitzy Las Vegas! With whispers circulating about potential changes to McIntyre’s WrestleMania 41 opponent, it’s tantalizingly possible that this could be my big break. However, only time will reveal the answers, and I can hardly wait for the moment when my dreams might just come true!
