Why is Ravi Mohan going to High Court in Rs 9 crore case? All we know about his fight against production house

Ravi Mohan has taken action by filing a lawsuit for defamation at the Madras High Court, targeting Bobby Touch Gold Universal Private Limited’s production house. He aims to recover approximately 90 crores (Rs 9 crore) from the producers because they did not start two projects with him as scheduled.

Ravi Mohan files a lawsuit against a production house

According to a report from News18, Ravi Mohan claims he supplied a call sheet for 80 days, but the company didn’t start filming as scheduled. This apparent failure reportedly resulted in significant financial losses for Mohan, prompting him to file a lawsuit.

In the claims made by the PS 1 actor, he stated that he was set to supply dates ranging from January through March of 2025. Due to his obligations with the film studio at the time, he found it necessary to forgo other movie projects.

Furthermore, the agreement came to an end naturally following a specified timeframe, prompting Ravi to pursue fresh ventures. Yet, it’s been reported that the producers have issued a demand for repayment to Ravi, regarding the previous Rs 6 crore advance they had given him as an actor.

It’s worth noting that the defamation lawsuit indicates the actor intends to repay the initial payment, but the production company counters this claim, asserting that Ravi Mohan violated their contract by taking on a role in Parasakthi.

The Madras High Court has now ordered the production company to further respond by July 23, 2025.

Ravi Mohan’s work front

Ravi Mohan recently played the main character in the movie Kadhalikka Neramillai, a romantic comedy. Directed by Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi, this film shares similarities with the 2010 American film The Switch, featuring Jennifer Aniston and Jason Bateman. Nithya Menen was Ravi’s co-star in this production.

The movie narrates the tale of a youthful lady yearning for a family, yet encountering challenges when she develops feelings for a man who shows no inclination towards matrimony or offspring. This predicament gives rise to several amusing incidents and delves into whether she eventually discovers her soulmate.

In the upcoming film starring Sivakarthikeyan titled “Parasakthi,” the actor will portray the primary adversary. This movie, directed by Sudha Kongara, is highly anticipated as it’s categorized as a historical political drama. Significant roles are also held by Sreeleela and Atharvaa Murali in this production.
