Why Is LimeLight Changing Its Name to Madein? Are Kep1er Members Joining?

As a dedicated K-pop fan, I am always excited about the latest developments in the industry, and the recent news of LimeLight changing its name to Madein and welcoming two new members from Kep1er, Mashiro and Yeseo, is definitely worth getting excited about!

A new name, “Madein,” was adopted by the debut K-pop group LimeLight before introducing two fresh members from Kep1er into their lineup. In the coming months, 143 Entertainment’s act will expand to include a total of five members.

Instead of just changing the name from Limelight to Madein, there’s excitement among fans about two Kep1er members, Mashiro and Yeseo, who are expected to join the new K-pop group and make their comeback. According to Korean media, an approximate schedule has been shared for the duo’s debut with Madein.

Who are K-pop group Madein (LimeLight) members? Age & name

In the future, Madein, formerly known as LimeLight, will consist of five members. At present, the team comprises three individuals: MiU, Suhye, and Gaeun. Their debut mini-album, Love & Happiness, was unveiled to the world as a K-pop trio on February 17, 2023. Before the group expands to accommodate five members, let’s explore their backgrounds.

As a passionate gamer and devoted fan of Madein, I’m thrilled about the addition of Yeseo and Mashiro to the trio. With their impressive vocal skills, I’ve high expectations for the group’s upcoming releases. The agency, 143, seems to share my excitement, as they’ve rebranded themselves to put more emphasis on these new talents. They’ve given the group a fresh identity that resonates with fans, making us feel even more connected to the music we love.

MiU

(Birthday: January 9, 2003)

Ito Miyu, also known as MiU, became the visual member of Madein, 143 Entertainment’s girl group, at the age of 21. Before joining the entertainment company in 2021, she had taken part in Mnet’s Girls Planet 999 reality show but was eliminated during the initial round. However, she went on to debut as a member of Limelight’s lineup in 2022.

Suhye

(Birthday: December 13, 2004)

I’m a huge fan of Kim Suhye, also known as Suhye. She was once a contestant on MBC’s My Teenage Girl, but when she didn’t make it past episode 8, she joined Limelight as their main vocalist instead. At just 19 years old and hailing from South Korea, Suhye signed with 143 Entertainment in 2022. Her passion for music is matched only by her love for filmmaking. Having graduated from Hanlim Multi Art School with a focus on filmmaking, she’s got a unique perspective that sets her apart.

Gaeun

Hey there, I’m Ga-Eun, also known as Gaeun, and I’m currently the youngest member of Madein. Born on November 8, 2005, I joined 143 Entertainment at the tender age of 18. People call me an all-rounder in Madein because I handle various roles – I’m the main dancer, lead vocalist, and rapper.

In the year 2022, Gaeun became the first Limelight member despite having no background in reality shows. Following the addition of Mashiro and Yeseo to the group, Gaeun will encounter another member born in 2005, as Yeseo shares her birth year.

Mashiro

(Birthday: December 16, 1999)

Mashiro, a member of Girls Planet 999 who will be part of Madein once she wins, is set to be the senior-most member due to her earlier experience in the K-entertainment scene. Since joining JYP Entertainment in 2016, she has been an industry insider.

I’ve been under the wing of JYP Entertainment for the past two years, but in 2021, I made a big decision to leave and join Mnet’s Girls’ Planet 999 instead. At the moment, I’m still a member of Kep1er, but my contract with WakeOne is set to expire in 2024. After that, I’ll be free to explore new opportunities and chapters in my K-pop career.

Yeseo

(Birthday: August 22, 2005)

After joining the group, Kang Yeseo will become the second youngest member. Following Mashiro and Yeseo on Madein’s official Instagram indicates that these two new members are likely to be introduced soon.

I was thrilled when I made it into Mnet’s Girls Planet 999 winning lineup at the age of 18. In the finale of this popular reality show, I ranked 6th, earning me a spot in the debut lineup of the new K-pop group.

According to a recent article by Star News Korea, Kep1er members Mashiro and Yeseo are set to begin anew with Madein, the renamed K-pop group, starting in September. The piece additionally disclosed the meaning behind their fresh moniker.

As a devoted fan of Madein, I can’t help but feel proud when I think about how most of the group’s members rose to fame through K-pop reality shows. The name “WE MADE IN U” holds a special significance for us, as it pays homage to our unwavering support that helped these talented individuals gain recognition and prominence in the industry. However, with the ever-evolving landscape of K-pop, it was essential for Madein to undergo a rebranding process.
