As a seasoned gamer with years of experience following the rollercoaster ride that is K-Pop, I must say, the drama surrounding KG, formerly known as Kiera Grace Madder from JYP Entertainment’s VCHA, has been nothing short of a thrilling quest in this virtual world we call showbiz.
Kiera Grace Madder, also known as KG, who is part of girl group VCHA under JYP Entertainment, has recently left the group. She ended her contract with the company and her representative, Tracey Madder, filed a lawsuit against them. This surprising move has sparked curiosity among many people eager to understand the circumstances surrounding this decision.
Here is everything we have learned about KG’s exit from VCHA.
KG of VCHA leaves girl group amidst lawsuit
KG explained via an Instagram story why she terminated her contract with JYP.
The musician expressed that she endured mistreatment and abuse by multiple staff members, which she believes was detrimental to her mental wellbeing. She apologizes if her absence upset anyone, but she is not in agreement with the work and living conditions that pushed a colleague to attempt suicide. Similarly, she does not endorse an environment that fosters eating disorders or has led to self-harm among its members. (via me)
KG shared that she made this choice months ago in May, and is still bound by her contract, waiting for its conclusion. She expressed concern for the girls who are still part of VCHA, her friends whom she holds dear. Additionally, she revealed that staying with JYP Entertainment could harm her professional growth. Furthermore, KG disclosed that she amassed a significant amount of company debt and was compensated very little given the demanding nature of her workload. Lastly, she spoke about the restrictions placed on her personal life.
KG gratefully acknowledged J.Y. Park and the rest of the team for their faith in her. Furthermore, she voiced her aspirations that her departure might spark transformations within the K-Pop system, an area she feels requires significant improvements in its operations.
Based on Soompi’s report, JYP USA countered KG’s statements by declaring them as “unfounded” and “overstated,” stating that these allegations caused substantial damage to other VCHA and JYP USA team members involved in their 2025 projects. They also mentioned that they had halted VCHA’s activities, held lengthy discussions with KG’s representatives to address her concerns, but asserted that they received no further replies from her side.
Ultimately, KG countered JYP USA’s declaration via an additional Instagram post. In it, she voiced her dismay over their refusal to acknowledge responsibility. Moreover, she emphasized that she and her legal advisors had amassed photographic and tangible proof to substantiate her allegations.
