I’m thrilled to share that I’ll be joining the Taking Up Space Crew, launching tomorrow at 7 am CT! It’s truly an honor to stand among these five remarkable and inspiring women as we make history by becoming the first all-female space flight crew!” On April 14, I’ll embark on a short 11-minute journey aboard the New Shepard rocket.

Before the upcoming launch, Perry unveiled exclusive footage from inside the capsule, showcasing her designated seat. Dressed in a custom-made blue jumpsuit emblazoned with her name, she exuded excitement. The artist playfully suggested that she would sing in space, quipping, “I’ve got to sing in space.” She also emphasized the significance of trusting in your dreams, stating, “I truly believe this, for it is by believing in your dreams and voicing them that you bring those dreams into reality.

Perry teams up with five other female teammates: Lauren Sánchez, Gayle King, Amanda Nguyen, Kerianne Flynn, and Aisha Bowe. As a collective, they make up the “Taking Up Space” crew, marking the first all-female space voyage since 1963. This expedition is associated with Blue Origin’s New Shepard program, making it the 11th human flight and the 31st launch under this project.

Perry expresses enthusiasm that the mission might inspire others, particularly young girls, to envision a space and scientific future for themselves.
