Despite just starting out, there’s already buzz suggesting that NBC’s new series, Suits LA, might be axed before Season 2. With underwhelming ratings and increasing criticism, concerns about its longevity are on the rise. In addition, it seems to lack the allure that turned the original Suits into a worldwide hit. Consequently, fans can’t help but question whether Suits LA will persist beyond its debut season or meet an early cancellation.
Has Suits LA been canceled by NBC already before Season 2?
As of now, Suits LA has not been officially canceled by NBC.
The series is relatively new, having debuted with 2.6 million viewers initially. Yet, the anticipation about its future isn’t particularly optimistic. The spinoff focusing on Stephen Amell as Ted Black, a former prosecutor transitioning to entertainment law, hasn’t been able to recreate the charm that made Suits popular among fans.
The original series concluded back in 2019. However, when it was added to Netflix in 2023, it experienced a significant boost in popularity, being crowned the most-watched show that year. This renewed interest led many to hope that Suits LA would capitalize on its predecessor’s triumph. Regrettably, the spinoff has failed to meet these high expectations.
Both critics and viewers have been vocal about their dissatisfaction with the show, as it has received poor ratings on Rotten Tomatoes, with a Tomatometer score of 39% and an audience score of 32%. Common comments include “The plot is good, but something just didn’t feel right,” and “It doesn’t even have any interesting characters.” Fans are already anticipating that Suits LA will be cancelled by summer. Remarkably, even the previous spinoff, Pearson, which only lasted one season, managed to achieve a 79% audience rating—significantly higher than Suits LA’s current standing. (Via IMDb)
Although NBC hasn’t publicly confirmed the cancellation of Suits LA yet, the unenthusiastic response and low viewership numbers suggest that a second season might not be likely.
