The future of Roman Reigns in the WWE has become uncertain and questionable following comments made by ex-WWE commentator Jonathan Coachman on a recent podcast. This has left fans of the wrestler speculating if he might be leaving the wrestling industry altogether. Known for his presence in the WWE since 2010, Reigns is often recognized as one of the top professional wrestlers globally.
It appears there is speculation surrounding whether Roman Reigns will depart from the WWE or be released by them. Here’s what we currently understand regarding Roman Reigns’ departure from the WWE.
Will Roman Reigns leave WWE soon?
It’s highly likely that Roman Reigns will leave the WWE, given that he appears vulnerable to TKO’s cost-cutting measures, as suggested by former WWE employees Jonathan Coachman and Tommy Carlucci.
In a recent episode of The Last Word podcast, I, as a passionate fan, found myself pondering over Coachman’s insights regarding Reigns’ potential exit. He brought up the topic of Reigns signing “another two-year contract” and then stepping away from wrestling afterwards. Coachman then posed an intriguing question about Reigns’ staggering earnings, which range from 15 to 20 million dollars annually despite his part-time status. He expressed curiosity as to how this substantial payment made sense, considering Reigns would only “make appearances approximately 10 to 20 times in a year.
In essence, for each appearance, that figure exceeds one million dollars. Coachman questioned if such earnings were justified, given that numerous other top-tier stars are being let go?” (via TJ Wrestling)
After that, Carlucci voiced his opinion on the possibility of Reigns leaving. He mentioned that the management at TKO might start rethinking their approach towards Reigns. He highlighted that TKO would not terminate Reigns “entirely,” but he won’t be receiving any compensation close to 15 to 20 million dollars.
Carlucci further commented, saying, ‘They imply that if you’re not satisfied, tough luck, and they are executives.’ He then voiced his skepticism about Triple H promising to maintain Reigns’ contract, suggesting it was unlikely. ‘I believe he’s acting out of fear,’ he added.
In a conversation with Vanity Fair in April, he subtly suggested his departure. He mentioned that he only had “one more year or two at most” left on his contract, and afterwards, he intended to move towards a less strenuous type of entertainment.
Lately, some wrestlers like Braun Strowman and R-Truth have parted ways with the WWE. Reports online suggest that Strowman’s departure was due to his substantial earnings.
Reigns has been missing in action since he was attacked by Bron Breakker and Seth Rollins.
