There was a buzz on social media that One Piece might be coming back for its third season, sparked by a post on the Writers Guild of America West’s official website. The listing revealed updates about the show’s management, with Matt Owens being named as the showrunner and Joseph E Tracz as the executive producer, both under the title “One Piece Season 3”.
The post about it was likewise distributed on X (previously known as Twitter) by PewPiece, who’s well-known among fans for leaking spoilers from the manga’s upcoming chapters. He mentioned that the series appears to be renewed for another season. In his own words, “Although Netflix hasn’t officially confirmed Season 3 yet, a listing in the Writers Guild of America directory indicates that production on it has begun.
Although Netflix hasn’t disclosed any information about it so far, it’s worth noting that filming for One Piece Season 2 wrapped up some time ago. The announcement was made on X via a set photo featuring all the cast members, as shared by Netflix. Interestingly, the creator of the One Piece manga, Eichiro Oda, has been an active participant in the live-action adaptation since the beginning of Season 1.
