As a long-time Marvel fan and someone who has witnessed Kathryn Hahn’s transformation into the enigmatic Agatha Harkness, I find myself both hopeful and apprehensive about her potential return to the MCU.
Fans suspect that Kathryn Hahn, who plays Agatha Harkness, might not reappear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe following “Agatha All Along”. This theory emerged after Hahn shared her thoughts on her individual journey during the Disney+ series. She felt it was a moving way to wrap up her character’s storyline. Her recent statements have left fans questioning whether she will be part of the MCU in the future, based on her comments about saying goodbye to her role.
Will Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha Harkness return in MCU?
According to recent statements by Hahn, it seems she’s saying goodbye to Agatha Harkness following the Disney+ series. Yet, Marvel Studios has not yet officially announced that Agatha Harkness has left the storyline.
In a recent conversation with the Los Angeles Times, Hahn discussed the heartwarming relationship between Agatha and Wiccan, Scarlet Witch’s son. She disclosed that while Agatha is aware that Wiccan isn’t her biological child, she strives to protect him as she couldn’t her own son, Nicholas Scratch. Expressing affection for Joe Locke, who plays Wiccan, Hahn feels their characters work exceptionally well together.
She expressed, “Though Billy/Wiccan isn’t biologically her son, there remains some optimism that she might still be able to accomplish for him what she failed with Nicky. I believe they work wonderfully together. Of course, I’m deeply fond of Joe Locke, and we’ll have to wait and see what the future may bring.
The actress from Marvel Cinematic Universe feels the series finale was a “beautiful and fulfilling” ending to her storyline. Moreover, she openly shared her affection for the character and how it reignited her passion and love for acting. She firmly believes that portraying Agatha happened at just the right moment in her career.
Although Hahn might think she’s bid farewell to her character, there’s a glimmer of chance for her comeback. In the finale of Agatha All Along, the main character, Agatha, makes a return as a ghost, guiding Wiccan on his quest to locate his lost brother, Tommy. Consequently, it leaves room for her to take up this spectral role again in the future.
