Why Fans Think Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show Could Be Canceled

Following the cancellation of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert by CBS, reportedly due to political influence, President Donald Trump has suggested that Jimmy Kimmel’s show might face a similar fate next. He also hinted that The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon could be after it.

This disputed remark has ignited a response within the community, since fans are concerned that we might be bidding farewell to even more veterans of late-night talk shows.

Is Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show getting canceled as well?

As of now, there’s been no formal announcement that Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show has been cancelled, suggesting it’s still on the air for the time being.

The chatter about it started following a post by President Donald Trump on Truth Social, where he criticized late-night talk show hosts. He asserted that they lacked talent, suggesting that Fallon and Kimmel might soon be leaving their positions. This statement came shortly after Colbert’s show was taken off the air.

Donald Trump tweeted, “It seems Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon are next to leave the unimpressive Late Night competition. They’ve been on for far too long, and it’s high time they left. These individuals lack any real talent, yet have been highly paid for their poor performances that ruined great television shows. I’m glad to see them go and hope my involvement played a significant role in this.

Stephen Colbert shared Trump’s remark on his program and expressed disagreement with the idea that Jimmy Kimmel would be the next to face trouble. Colbert playfully remarked, “Nope…absolutely not, Kimmel. I am the one destined for this role. There’s only space for one on this cross, and let me tell you, the view from up here is simply magnificent! I can even see your house!

Given that Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel’s shows followed Stephen Colbert’s, it seems extremely improbable that they will experience the same cancellation as him.

However, some fans are expressing concern about potential changes due to recent events. On social media platforms, there have been discussions about the future of these types of shows and their hosts if similar incidents persist. For the moment, though, it’s all right for supporters to breathe easy because both Kimmel and Fallon still have contracts with their networks extending into the future. Specifically, Kimmel has time to finish the current Season 23, while Fallon can continue his late-night talk show all the way up until 2028.
