As a seasoned gamer and avid reality show enthusiast with over two decades of experience under my belt, I must say that I find the recent turn of events surrounding The Influencer‘s winner, OKING, quite intriguing. It’s not often we see such a significant prize at stake and a contestant failing to claim it due to breach of contract.
“The reality TV show ‘The Influencer’ from South Korea, which streams on Netflix, declared OKING as the winner of season 1 on August 13, 2024. The grand prize for this show was 300 million Korean Won. Unfortunately, according to SBS Entertainment News, OKING won’t receive his winnings because he broke confidentiality rules about his participation on the show.”
On August 21st, Netflix informed a local news outlet that due to breaking the rules by revealing his win on The Influencer to someone outside before the final episode was broadcasted, they would not be awarding the winner the prize money.

Earlier, it was disclosed that Netflix informed a regional news station that the grand-prize winner of The Influencer, OKING, did not receive the cash reward valued at KRW 300 million. They also clarified their reasons for withholding the YouTuber and streamer’s prize money.
According to SBS Entertainment News, the streaming service made moves to uphold fairness for all contestants and maintain the integrity of the show. To put it simply, Netflix announced that the winnings from ‘The Influencer’ will not be given to the winner who breached their confidentiality agreement in the contract.
Emphasizing the importance of keeping details about the upcoming show under wraps until launch, they highlighted that doing so would significantly boost chances of achieving our goals – delivering the intended message and showcasing the entertaining aspects of the program to viewers effectively.
Netflix stated, “This sentiment of success is shared by everyone involved in the production, from the crew to the cast.” As for consequences for breaking this agreement, no specifics were provided.
