Bunk’d recently finished its seventh season, wrapping up the beloved show that centers around the summer camp escapades of Ravi, Emma, and Zuri Ross. Ever since its premiere, it has kept audiences hooked. But one unanswered question lingers—why did Kevin Quinn’s character, Xander, suddenly depart from the series?
Here is everything you need to know about the actor’s departure from the popular sitcom series.
Here’s Why Kevin Quinn’s Xander Left Bunk’d
Kevin Quinn’s Xander left Bunk’d due to personal reasons.
During an interview with The Sit and Chat, the actor spoke candidly about his departure from the sitcom. He explained that a turbulent period in his life was what led to his unexpected exit after just two seasons. He went on to describe a challenging phase he was going through. Additionally, Quinn reminisced about a moment when he suffered a mental breakdown while traveling, realizing he should have received a call for Bunk’d Season 3. Overwhelmed, he broke down in front of his parents, pleading not to be asked to return to the show.
Besides sharing that his departure from Bunk’d wasn’t related to his experience on the show, Quinn explained, “My departure had nothing to do with ‘Bunk’d.’ I adored every moment of it. However, I found myself in a state of instability. In a sense, things were unfolding as they should.” Additionally, he admitted, “If I had returned for Season 3, I would have persevered and continued working diligently. But secretly, I was hoping for an opportunity to move on.
In 2015, during the initial season, Quinn made his appearance on the show, taking on the character of Xander – the chief counselor at Cabin Grizzly, also known as its resident musician. He developed a strong bond with Lou and eventually became Emma’s romantic interest. For two seasons, fans enjoyed watching Quinn bring this role to life.
After leaving the show Bunk’d, Kevin Quinn went on to star in Kingdom Hearts III, A Christmas Love Story, Champions, and numerous other productions.
